Volume builders have so many different floor plans available that you're bound to find something you like anyway. Just be sure you are getting genuine value for money as it is no use selecting a builder with the best promotion if they have the highest base price for their homes. Carefully compare both standard and promotional inclusions amongst builders against cost and you shouldn't go wrong. And don't think one volume builder will necessarily build a better quality home over another. They are much the same and all it comes down to is the competency of your site supervisor and the trades he hires (bit of a lottery I'm afraid). Rudolf1980, that Burbank promotion is pretty typical. The only thing I thought was exceptional was the double glazed windows. Can't believe they don't include Caesarstone in the bathrooms though! And only a 600mm oven and rangehood?! Re: Builder Promotion Vic 7Jan 18, 2011 10:37 am Yeah but some of the extras are standard inclusions with the future homes. they are 7 star energy rated. When you look at the size of the homes, inclusions and extras for the space compared to other builders..... Burbank win hands down for me. Example is our home, base price is now around $257,800 for a 43 sq home.... would be hard to compare. We couldnt. and being 7 star.... thats a bonus. Which builder promotion offers caesarstone in the bathrooms? thanks Re: Builder Promotion Vic 9Jan 26, 2011 4:33 pm I personally looked through each builder to find a floor plan I liked and then had a look at the inclusions.. was almost going to go with M but PD had a better floor plan Mine is 22 sq but can have a variation in 24 sq. I did a 'walk through' with the sales consultant in the display home and she explained everything that was included and what was not. Very helpful, I would definitely recommend that possibly with a few builders but I knew which house I wanted.. I just had to chose what it was to look like after that! Which builder promotion offers caesarstone in the bathrooms? thanks PD does atm in the Complete PD pack i think from memory not 100% sure though. Anyway when i built with someone else a few years ago, i got it in the bathrooms also and it was less than $500 for both to be done anyway so not that much anyway Re: Builder Promotion Vic 11Jan 27, 2011 2:34 pm Miss Piggy Anyway when i built with someone else a few years ago, i got it in the bathrooms also and it was less than $500 for both to be done anyway so not that much anyway How about the cooling (is evaporative or split system is better) and floor covering (one builder offers carpet and the other offers laminated timber) ? Also, which builder does include driveway and fencing? Also, which builder does include driveway and fencing? Thanks again it depends on the builder, i know we got our evap cooler included for free (as part of a promo) which you can also do with PD at the moment with the complete thing they are doing, we paid for the builder extra to do floor coverings as when we got quote it was roughly the same as what our builder was charging us to do it for us. We got carpet in bedroom, lounge, rumpus, the rest was hardwood flooring. Most builders depending on the month will run promos giving you something different all the time, sometimes fencing/drives are included, sometimes not. Our drive cost us an extra $1700. Do you have your land already? sometimes when you buy house and land you get fences/ driveways etc just depends on who you are looking at and what they are offering at what time of the year Re: Builder Promotion Vic 14Jan 27, 2011 2:58 pm forgot to add evap cooling is much cheaper to instal and run, but depends on your pref on which is better, we find it great but we have kids coming in and out and can leave the windows open etc, no need to be yelling at them to close the doors etc all the time Re: Builder Promotion Vic 15Jan 27, 2011 3:22 pm Miss Piggy Most builders depending on the month will run promos giving you something different all the time, sometimes fencing/drives are included, sometimes not. Do you have your land already? sometimes when you buy house and land you get fences/ driveways etc just depends on who you are looking at and what they are offering at what time of the year That's right. It's hard to compare the builders. Yes, I have a land and titled so I'm ready to build. $1700 for driveway sounds cheaper, is it a concrete? Re: Builder Promotion Vic 16Jan 27, 2011 4:55 pm it is coloured concrete but the promo i had at the time was free evap cooling and kitchen upgrade(could have also chosen flooring but did not want tiles throughout) we had the option of 2 of those plus discount on certain extras we wants (which one of them was concrete) Re: Builder Promotion Vic 17Jan 27, 2011 8:48 pm Miss Piggy it is coloured concrete but the promo i had at the time was free evap cooling and kitchen upgrade(could have also chosen flooring but did not want tiles throughout) we had the option of 2 of those plus discount on certain extras we wants (which one of them was concrete) So did they give you a rebate for the driveway (upgrade from concrete to coloured)? Who was your builder? I got a quote from one builder (which I like the floor plan), I added alfresco but the price given is without concrete flooring (will be an extra charge) and she confirmed no tiles for the porch area (tiles included for kitchen, entry and wet area). is it normal? Re: Builder Promotion Vic 18Jan 27, 2011 9:04 pm As i said this was 3 years ago, no i paid for concrete and they gave me a choice of about 15 colours not sure now though what is offered, i know they dont have a good deal at the moment, i got mine about april 2008, they had a similar one just end at Xmas not sure if they do it each year at the same times or not, cant tell you about the alfresco area, and porches, mine were included with plan concrete as the floor, we did plan to tile over them but being we are going to build again soon, its not worth it
here is my very OLD thread not sure if there are any pics of the concrete but the details of the build is there if you want to check it out viewtopic.php?t=10454 Re: Builder Promotion Vic 19Jan 27, 2011 9:05 pm mqtutor inverell Rudolf1980, that Burbank promotion is pretty typical. Which builder promotion offers caesarstone in the bathrooms? thanks Orbit Homes include caesarstone in all the bathrooms and ensuites. And the majority of their kitchen designs have waterfall ends to the benches- I have an island bench so that means 2 stone ends yipee. They have a display in Alamamda and Williams Landing. Re: Builder Promotion Vic 20Jan 28, 2011 8:02 am Are people really basing their decision on what house to build because of the amount of Caesarstone that's "thrown in" by the builder? What about the best floorplan that suits your lifestyle? They were amazing. Thorough reports… 2 5273 Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 22414 I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 16718 |
