Re: Desperately need advice about feature wall colour 5Jan 06, 2011 3:10 pm Using the MyColour Visualiser from the Dulux website certainly helps Even if you go with other paints other than theirs, it's a fabulous tool to help you get a feel for what colours work, and what colour dont. http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/mycolour Re: Desperately need advice about feature wall colour 6Jan 06, 2011 3:21 pm just Erin kiwi just erin..where is aaron!??? are you ok? not too lonely?! The photos and frames make the feature. Erin’s is different she has chosen a colour that is not bright, which looks stunning to me. I would leave that wall alone and pick another wall in the room and paint it. The photos and frames make the feature. +1. There's enough colour with the photos plus the green & the blue. It would be a bit much for me. Re: Desperately need advice about feature wall colour 14Jan 14, 2011 1:07 pm How about a feature on one of the other walls? Is there a long wall where you have your tv? That generally seems like a good starting point. Re: Desperately need advice about feature wall colour 15Jan 15, 2011 3:42 pm Hi Ilana, can I suggest something completely different without offending you? ... what about the idea of creating your photo collage wall in another area, or down your hallway maybe. Then you could paint a gorgeous feature wall behind the lounge and place either a very large stylish print or canvas there, or even a large mirror or set of 3 vertical mirrors, giving the feature wall colour the attention it deserves. I just wonder if the photo collage in your lounge room may make the room feel very 'busy'. Just another thought, hope you don't mind me verbalising it! Re: Desperately need advice about feature wall colour 16Jan 17, 2011 11:10 am I like Pauline's idea! Is there another place you could have your photo wall? Re: Desperately need advice about feature wall colour 17Jan 17, 2011 11:39 am Thank you all for your advice which is very much appreciated. I have decided to listen and not paint the wall with the photo collage with a different colour. All walls are now going to be painted in Clotted Cream. The first coat is done and I think it looks good. If I think we need more colour in the room, I might introduce this by buying some bright coloured cushions or the like. I still think I will use this wall for the photos. There is no other wall in a hallway or elsewhere that is really suitable for a photo collage. The photos have already been on this wall for a number of years and I don't think it looks too "busy". It has been nice having family photos (weddings, children, grandchildren) all together on display in one place in the loungeroom. We get a lot of visitors standing looking at the wall to check out new developments and "family growth" and it means we don't have multiple photos cluttering shelves. Thanks again. Ilana Re: Desperately need advice about feature wall colour 18Jan 17, 2011 11:53 am I'm glad you have arrived at a solution that suits you best! It is hard trying to make a decision isn't it!? I love walking into a home with photos on display- and you're living in the home so you are the best one to decide if this is the best place to have it!
