I know laminate comes in sheets 3.6m long or so. That would mean to have no joins I would buy an entire sheet and waste most of it - or would cabinetmakers have offcuts that they would sell me? the cabinet company i used to work for had loads of offcuts and part used laminates. OK, so it sounds like it won't be silly of me to approach them and ask the question then. Glueing a new strip of laminate over does seem like the least fiddly solution. Re: Changing kickboard colour 7Dec 28, 2010 10:23 am We had this problem too...Our cabinets are mainly porcelain gloss but the panels on the back of the island bench are licorice linea. I just presumed that the cabinet maker would ensure the kickbacks were also licorice linea but didn't think to ask specifically. Just prior to assembling the kitchen it dawned on them that we'd ordered porcelain kickbacks so they ordered a panel of licorice linea to be fitted over the top of the kickbacks at their own expense. I have wondered why the cabinetmaker didn't think to double-check the choice but then they weren't to know we had planned dark flooring. If we had white floor tiles it may not have been an issue at all. Thanks for your replies, Kylie How much are you ahead in payments compared to where the build is at?
