I have been told it will be out hopefully week 3 or 4 of december! Another one has already been taken as of a couple of days ago! ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Aubin Gardens -Stage 9 & 10 - Come and meet your neighbo 428Dec 17, 2010 5:37 pm I need some advice on colours for glass splashbacks. As our kitchen is gloss white and our benchtop is white stone we were thinking of having a glass mirror as our splashback. Reflect light etc. Should we go for the mirror splashback or should we go for a dark grey colour. It still is reflective however not as much as the mirror. What do you all think? Seeing as there are no windows in the kitchen I am leaning toward the mirror finish. Re: Aubin Gardens -Stage 9 & 10 - Come and meet your neighbo 430Dec 19, 2010 2:52 pm Well finally got things sorted out with a few last minute fixes with the builder, and finally moved in on Wednesday. Shonz, thanks for prompting me to get some hastily arranged newspaper on the bedroom window... saw you wandering past on your morning stroll the first day i was there and panicked a bit... Really glad to see the neighborhood taking shape at a rapid rate of knots... think we got 4 or 5 families move in over the last fortnight... Any ideas when "bin day" is? Heading over to the council tomorrow to get a few things organised, including the sulo's. Wouldn't be an issue, except the tradies next door left a few reminders of their presence in my back yard on Friday. I would rather do my own landscaping. cheers. Re: Aubin Gardens -Stage 9 & 10 - Come and meet your neighbo 434Jan 06, 2011 4:25 pm Hey wrexter I think if you decide to go down this track you have to have plans drawn up of what the landscaping is going to look like and then you need to get Terranovis to approve the plans. Once this is done you have to do the work and then once it is completed then the finished product then needs to be approved Terranovis before the cheque is released. Same applies if you get another landscaping company to do the work instead of the prescribed company that Terranovis use. Cheers Re: Aubin Gardens -Stage 9 & 10 - Come and meet your neighbo 435Jan 06, 2011 4:40 pm luke81 Hey wrexter I think if you decide to go down this track you have to have plans drawn up of what the landscaping is going to look like and then you need to get Terranovis to approve the plans. Re: Aubin Gardens -Stage 9 & 10 - Come and meet your neighbo 437Jan 07, 2011 4:58 pm Howdy Neighbours!! I came across this forum last night when I was googling trying to find out what that huge building is on Lyon/Gaebler. Now I know!! woohoo. So I am mostly surprised that I didn't come across this forum any earlier...kinda jealous that most of you already know eachother. lol. I managed to read thru half the thread, and will try to catch up on the rest later. Hubby & I were disgusted on the story of the "dumping" in the bedroom. We noticed the other weeked that our front yard reeked from the portaloo. Yucko. We have built on lot 370, and have taken a million photos of our block and house, and probably have a few photos of Bellingrath Way to share. I must say, Nearmaps is awesome! I showed it to my friends at work today. We are building with Aveling Homes (I've seen a couple of houses of theirs on Adromeda), but we used a Scott Park design and modified it. Our house got to lockup stage in Dec, but has kinda come to a halt. Builder decided to put our spa taps in a completely different location, and then asked us if it was ok.???? Stupids. So now our tiling got delayed (woulda been started before Xmas), but now won't be started until mid Jan. Oh well - they get their last payment late now! So we aren't far from Handover now. Getting a little excited. Oh - I forget your name, but the owners of Lot 372..... when we had our tile meeting (the day we discovered our taps were in the wrong spot), we could hear some very loud doof doof dance music coming from your house - at 8am!! ha ha ha, we had a good laugh at the labourers taste of early morning music. Well, that was a longer post than I had intended... I look forward to getting to know you all. You all sound like a good bunch of ppl so far Building a custom plan with Aveling Homes. Slab down Aug 2010. Due for completion Feb 2011. Re: Aubin Gardens -Stage 9 & 10 - Come and meet your neighbo 438Jan 07, 2011 11:37 pm Hi Telotubby, Welcome to the forum. I am in lot 372. Noticed your build going really fast from slab to lockup. In fact, we had our slab much earlier on Aug 9, but with one brickie most of the time, it took 6.5 weeks to complete. It is now nearing lock up, notice plastering set is on this on. SS told me carpentry materials will deliver next week. Not hopeful of anything happening faster. Just learn to be patient with the builder. I spoke to Terranovis, and got the same answer - $3,000 worth of landscaping which includes lawn, some plants and reticulation. You may approach their contractor (Paul Masson) for a quote if you would like him to landscape the back too. Are you hopeful to have practical completion in March? I hope to get mine then. Cheers, AG Re: Aubin Gardens -Stage 9 & 10 - Come and meet your neighbo 439Jan 08, 2011 12:46 am Hi AG, We were told that it would be finished by end of Jan, but with the tap debarcle, we expect that it'd be more likely end of Feb, so hoping to be moved in end of March, early April. Our SS has only been in touch with us once during the entire process. I'm a but peeved off about that. We are none the wiser, as we've never built before. I actually received a call from the office once to tell us our "fortnightly update", and I told her that we've never had a fortnightly update, and to top it off, the info she gave me about the next job they were starting on was about a week old, and the job had already been completed! I've never received an update from them since. The only info I get from the builder is when I ask them, or when they contact me to either advise our bricks and pavers have changed or out of stock, or when they ring me the day I received a progress payment invoice to ask me to pay it. Cheeky buggers. I don't know many people who love their builders though. We are going past the house tomorrow arvo to see if there been any progress this week (doubtful). Oh - and you may notice we've had a fence frame erected between ours and 371 for ages now. The fencing contractor obviously started the job way too early, and had the cheek to tell the labourers off for mess still on the property. The builder told him off for going there too early, and he told them that the Owners (me) had told them to start!!! I don't even know who the bloody fencing contractor is! And now the fence frame has already been damaged. I don't have many nice things to report ATM, can't wait till it's all over and we have our house finally! Building a custom plan with Aveling Homes. Sooner is a bonus. Less expectation less disappointment, ha ha ! I met my SS twice on my requests. Generally he and the office are responsive to queries or feedback on mistakes or issues. Yes, I notice the side fencing frame between 371 and you are up for a while already, kind of too soon. Perhaps Terranovis should clarify on this matter. I went to check on my progress this afternoon and wasn't impressed with the snail pace of internal wall white plaster sets, and found one ommission of light switch wiring. Will feedback to the SS tomorrow. Sign !! - there is no concept of zero defect in the building industry - I guess ! Looks like you have a better chance of moving in before me. Cheers, AG The only thing to add to these comments is that where possible it's always good to try and work with people than just say "no" because you can.
