I was wondering has anyone got a built in doggy door to the security door or standard door. We are looking at getting one soonish, but can't decide which door to put one in. We have a large dog so we will need a large door. Does anyone have pictures? Re: Built in Doggy Door 2Dec 12, 2010 9:32 pm Quote: We have a large door so we will need a large door. I presume this is meant to say We have a large dog Anyway, yes, we have a doggy door, its not a built in one - we did have a security door on our old house with a built in door but problem with this is that you have to have main door open or hole cut in it so dog can get to dog flap. In this house we decided not to have a security door on the laundry door and then we just bought a DIY doggy flap and installed that into the door - fairly simple DIY job if you have access to a jigsaw. I dont think you can get solid doors with built in flaps - well, that was what we were told, anyway. Ours is only a small flap- actually I think it is a cat flap - our dog is only little, about the size of a large cat. Here is a picture - not a very exciting photo though http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj187/nurselovescoffee/house%20pics/DSC00285.jpg Re: Built in Doggy Door 3Dec 13, 2010 10:50 am Helyn Quote: We have a large door so we will need a large door. Re: Built in Doggy Door 5Dec 13, 2010 5:13 pm I am trying to get ideas as we have the solid door but in the future want to get a security/ flywire door. We want it so the dog can enter in and out of the laundry when it wants when we aren't home, especially in the winter. Re: Built in Doggy Door 6Dec 13, 2010 6:14 pm We originally had ours in the security door but it was annoying having to leave the wooden door open all of the time. This time we put it in the wall next to the door. We had to get 2 extender sections to make a tunnel through the wall Built in Doggy Door 8Jan 09, 2011 7:07 pm JJ305 Hi, I was wondering has anyone got a built in doggy door to the security door or standard door.
