I can't be bothered now, but let me pretty it up a bit and I'll have a photo on, say Friday. ok? Unfortunately, that comes from working at Myer for years and being forced to listen to piped (and awful) Christmas Carols for about 3 months! I love Christmas decorating, I love thinking about the 'colours' (I change them every year), I love having Christmas decorations around the place and making my home pretty! I haven't started this year (I'll wait until a little bit closer to Christmas), but I have chosen my 'theme' of red and white. You have definitely gotten me into the Christmas spirit!! Unfortunately, we probably won't be in our new house in time for Christmas, so very few decorations this year I absolutely adore your front door! Very original!! Did you make that yourself? Re: Show me your Christmas Tree (and other festive tit-bits! 28Nov 18, 2010 1:15 pm Judie Can't find a white and silver tree skirt anywhere! Looks like I'll have to make it unless someone knows where I can buy one. Judie Hi Judie, Try the US Ebay. I found one although I'm not sure how much you are willing to spend. They aren't particularly cheap. You would get it in time for Christmas though. I buy from the US regularly and the mail takes about 5 - 12 days via airmail. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Elegant-Silver-W ... 5640dc599f Re: Show me your Christmas Tree (and other festive tit-bits! 29Nov 18, 2010 1:46 pm I don't know about the US stuff - I bought a few bits from Etsy shops from US and 6 weeks later I still didn't receive any of them. Not quite sure how it works and how people are getting their stuff from US in 5 - 12 days via airmail?? I use First Class International Airmail and haven't had a problem. I have often had things from the US show up in 3 or 4 days. Some take longer but I haven't waited any longer than 2 weeks. I purchase things on a weekly basis from both Ebay and Etsy. Perhaps they sent your items via seamail? Re: Show me your Christmas Tree (and other festive tit-bits! 31Nov 18, 2010 2:21 pm Stormy - that is just fabulous - well done! This was all last years pics, so there are no Chrissy stuff out yet, maybe in another 2 weeks. I did do the front door myself, it was actually very easy. Not quite original, I have seen a house I used to drive past that has it every year...I thought I'd borrow the idea! stonecutter1309 Stormy - that is just fabulous - well done! As for the rest of you, am I going to have to re-label this thread "Show me THIS YEARS Christmas Tree"? I think it's about time you all dusted off the decorations and deck the halls, so to speak On a side note, I'm hosting Christmas lunch this year (for the entire family eeek!). And I'm a little anxious - this'll be the first time I've had to cook pork To put things into perspective the entire family means - My 90yr old grandmother, my Mum & Dad, my three sisters & their partners, my brother & his wife, 7 nephews, 6 nieces, plus a some close friends, oh and can't forget DP I don't even know how I can fit all of them into my house, let alone around a table - I guess the kids will be relegated to a 'kids' table but I still have a heap of grown-ups to seat Re: Show me your Christmas Tree (and other festive tit-bits! 36Nov 18, 2010 7:29 pm IkonInteriors To put things into perspective the entire family means - My 90yr old grandmother, my Mum & Dad, my three sisters & their partners, my brother & his wife, 7 nephews, 6 nieces, plus a some close friends, oh and can't forget DP I don't even know how I can fit all of them into my house, let alone around a table - I guess the kids will be relegated to a 'kids' table but I still have a heap of grown-ups to seat better you than me! I might have to hire you to come up and prepare said meal if I can't teach myself how to cook 'pork with decent crackling' between now and Christmas Re: Show me your Christmas Tree (and other festive tit-bits! 38Nov 18, 2010 7:38 pm Pork’s easy!!!! Just make sure you cut grooves into the fat, and rub heaps of salt into it. I stuff my grooves with fresh herbs as well. Slow cook for a few hours depending on how big the piece of meat it.
