I guess you have hit the nail on the head there, i will be using it for Movies and Music so it will probably be a Media Room rather than a dedicated theatre. The rooms backs onto the passage which backs onto the alfresco and then a few meters before the boundry and neighbours house - biggest worry is if left as it is now the speakers would be angled directly at their house and i dont think a glass sliding door would do much to prevent the noise getting outside. I was hoping a wall and some solid core doors would help with this. Bunnings seem to have Hollow, Semi Solid and Solid doors and assumed the solid ones would be the best bet. Have PM'd you a plan to look at. Got a wall guy coming to the house tonight so will see what he thinks will work best for that and hopefully he can let me know about 1 vs 2 doors. Id be happy with a single door on the rear side of the room but other half wants open plan so i figured double doors would be a good comprimise. Will defintely have a look into that rubber stuff you mentioned. If money permits it will be a 7.1 system, got the fronts all sorted, just need to get the rears. Heard some good things about Selby Acoustics so will defintaely be contacting them when i need cables and the screen. Thanks for the screen specs and projector recommendations, havent even started looking into screens and projectors just yet. Cheers John. Re: 6m X 4m HT Room - Build Wall and Screen Placement 13Dec 10, 2010 4:16 pm Well i decided to get the room walled off. The wall is up (steel frame with gyprock and sound insulation in), waiting on Bunnings for Double doors to come in then can finish it off. Just wanted to check something in terms of screen size, for a wall 4m wide would you recommend a 120" or 150" screen or should someone look at getting a cinemascope screen instead, a bit confused about that one. Also am trying to decide what projector to buy, any recommendation for under 3k that can project that size from around 2-5 Meters back? Thanks in advance. Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time.
