Bricking next 602Nov 02, 2010 9:30 pm Frame is looking great Bel. The big question remains..... do you get that prized water view from the balcony???? Keep up the progress and crack that whip! Greg Re: Bel's new house - Frames - tick. Bricking next 603Nov 02, 2010 9:41 pm Hi Guys, Haven't been updating this again - as there is nothing to update. *sigh* I sent an email today explaining DH and I are getting frustrated at the lack of progress in the past few weeks. The whip has been cracked. I've left messages and sent emails wanting to know where are my bricks, where is the bricklayer and where is my internal plumbing. The frames went up in a blur, but now nothing seems to happening again. We have had some shocking weather in Sydney the past few weeks, but *where are my bricks* Blah double blah. Just feeling a bit defeated atm, just build the darn thing. Well I didn't dare go up the carpenters ladder when they were finishing off the frame. I did send my Dad up there to find out the million dollar question.............and no, no views really You can see the water a little, but it's "step up here and lean over to the left and ta da the water" Bel Still not in. So over it atm. *sigh* Ok a recap of the past couple of weeks of nothing....... So bricks were set to be delivered, and SS went to the block. Well low and behold due to all the rain Sydney has been getting over the past month or so, our driveway has been washed away. So SS cancels brick delivery as the truck can't get up to the block. Early this week, gravel has been layed and compacted, in preparation of the bricks. When I went past this arvo, they have moved the portaloo, so maybe bricks will be sooner than we thought. The thing that's annoying me and DH is that we keep asking for a date of delivery and brickies on site, and each time we are told - they have been caught up on other jobs because of the rain. We know that, but give me a date. Also, I think there are a few white ****** every now and then. We were told bricking was to start last Thursday (before the driveway saga cancelled everything) and since then we have had more rain. Tuesday the gravel was finished, and in between was rain again. So really the brickies should be ready to go. If they have been assigned another job and we need to wait for them to finish (which I'm sure has happened) I'll be so shi!tty. Argh - honestly why would you build a house! Oh that's right it's supposed to be worth it in the end I have a picture of gravel if you like Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Bel's new house - Frames - tick. Bricking next 612Nov 18, 2010 3:25 pm Why not - give us anything (I mean the gravel pics ) But don't despair ... our brickies retruned to finish some "minor" outstanding bricking some 2 months after the house was (almost) bricked up ... and then they had to come back for more of these 'little' jobs! My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Bel's new house - Frames - tick. Bricking next 614Nov 18, 2010 3:56 pm yep pics of gravel and a floor tile would be great. Yes well there solution is to blame everyone else while I a 65yr old woman with major medical problems have to just continue to boil water and wash myself in a bucket… 2 12401 If you make sure all taps inside and out are turned off, what does the water meter show if you leave it for a while. 2 16171 13 4649 |
