It sounds like things are starting to shape up. It's a wonderful home SW. Hope you're all well. Handover February 2011 Happy with our home Re: Longridge Madison - bits and bobs and pics! 1093Oct 30, 2010 10:43 pm Thanks all =) We can control a lot of the house from the internet due to the Cbus smart wiring that we have throughout. All part of the bigger plan for greenidying the house further. Will post more on that to the blog sometime soon =) Dee, =p RR - the bench makes a MASSIVE difference to the feeling of the space. Really wish id had the time to make it before the party. It is by no means perfect, but it serves it's purpose perfectly and everybody who comes around comments on how beautiful it is. Most people when they find out that it was home made turn around and tell me how clever Pipe is and how nice it must be to have such a great handyman to give these projects to!! =)))) Many a jaw has dripped when they find out that it's all my doing Re: Longridge Madison - bits and bobs and pics! 1094Oct 31, 2010 6:02 pm and then the orders start coming out of their mouths,...'can you make me one, do you make coffee tables, would you make me a custom bed' and so on and so forth...... and you smile and go, NO Re: Longridge Madison - bits and bobs and pics! 1095Oct 31, 2010 7:53 pm I built the picket fence at our second build...and loved the look on people's faces when they found out! My shills aren't up to furniture making though- I'm in awe! Things have been insanely busy here, complete with gaining of new job (sort of... same company, same job, new project that is SO MUCH MORE EXCITING AND CHALLENGING). Includes a conference trip in january that I've been rallying to attend for ages, so very excited about that. As a result, however, it means 5 or so days away from Alyssa during the conference. So I've been spending a little time away to try to ramp her up for it, and spent all of last weekend in Sydney visiting friends and getting NOTHING done around the house. So very little to report housewise... My main motivation for showing up here today is to beg (i'm down on my knees here) for anyone interested in donating to me and/or my team for movember. It's an awesome cause, and no I am NOT growing a moustache!!! My "mospace" and donation page is here: http://au.movember.com/mospace/1227780/ All help greatly appreciated. =) Re: Longridge Madison - solar passivity on the rise!! 1099Nov 17, 2010 11:57 am Our retractable sun shades are being installed as I type... I'm sitting in my office looking out upon the two lovely work men from shadeform as they begin to make the house a whole lot more solar passive!! From today, we will have 4m eaves in summer, no eaves in winter all the way along the northern windows. Awesome =) Photos later Re: Longridge Madison - solar passivity on the rise!! 1100Nov 17, 2010 12:06 pm Great news SW! We are contemplating a timber frame across the back of the house ( NNE) which we can grow a deciduos vine over....I'm thinking maybe a fruiting grapevine because it should like the heat thrown off from the bricks each year as it starts to bud....
