Fencing contractor for Mernda Villages

We are building in Mernda Villages and would like to get quotes for fencing, as our house is currently in completion stage.

Are you able to recommend any good fencing contractors, and who to stay away from?

I believe Mernda Villages is 1.8m Colorbond.
I've forgotten the name of the grey that it has to be in my current befuddled state. (Monument maybe?)

We're also nearing the stage where we will need a fence too.

Stockland is the developer in Mernda Villages, and they require all households to have a 1.8 metre high colorbond fence in grey ridge colour.

Grey Ridge/Woodland Grey - same colour different name.

Summerset Fencing in Donnybrook
Plenty Valley Fencing

These guys are great, they had to replace our back and side fence that Stockland organised

Summerset did the fencing in my street, it all feel down in a bad storm last Nov/Dec. Most of us who paid $500 for a side gate are still waiting for them to be fixed. Jeff doesn't return calls or even pick up his phone. Stockland stopped using them and got Oz Colour in to do the repairs instead. Our fences are quite sturdy now.

How did you hear about Oz Colour Fencing? How long did it take for them to install the fencing?

Stockland has employed Oz Colour for their fencing now. They fixed our rear fence that PVF stuffed up

We have two rear neighbours, and instead of cutting the fence that divides them at boundary level, they bowed our rear fence around it! So it ate about 50cm of our land in one part. Cant believe they thought we'd be happy :roll:

Not only that, but our side fence has fallen :roll:

Waiting for that to be fixed.

Was talking about the fencing with our neighbour and he pointed out that his other neighbour has a gap in his fence about half a meter wide!! And he's just put a piece if timber there. If it were me, I would have complained a loooong time ago. Not sure if he's organising it to be fixed

How did you hear about Oz Colour Fencing? How long did it take for them to install the fencing?

As Bam said above Stockland took the fencing contract off Summerset and gave it to OzColour. They arranged for our repairs to be done, so I got a phone call from Oz telling me what day they would be there. They did a great job. PVF have done some major crappy fencing jobs.

Oz Colour did our fencing quote in one day, whereas most of the other contractors have taken approximately 3 weeks to get back to me with a quote. Oz Colour are also easily contactable, and Danielle is fantastic to talk to.

pdemarchi - did you end up using Oz Colour for your fence? Our house in Mernda Vilalges is due to be completed soon, and we want to start getting quotes for fences to have it done very soon after moving in. Would you recommend them?

That is all good feedback as we are also about to start building in MV and have noted Oz colour fencing to use when build is completed.

We are close to moving in to MV too and are facing the fencing thing - any ideas on how we are supposed to get it done without having to foot the whole bill ourselves? Ozcolour is obviously good at what they do, but they won't co-ordinate with the different owners and we can't afford to pay it all and hope our neighbours pay ...

I know this is an old thread. But was wondering if anyone could recommend a fencer besides Ozcolour? or is $75.10p/m a reasonable price??
