Not a hirer of second hand equipment or they would be considered part time. The cost to pour is around $86 sq mtr with the mix in the modorately expensive range and honing at about $60 sq mtr. Including densifying. IMHO only slugger95 Honed concrete in Wa is around the $50 per m2 mark which will include sealing as well. Should be honed to about an 80 grit finish to maintain some grip when wet. Ring the Concr3t3 Car3 division of K3nnards in B3lmont for a referral to a good contractor as there are a few cowboys out there at the moment. Re: Polished Concrete? 5Oct 26, 2010 10:30 pm Onc Forgive me for daring to give advice in an area that you have a vested interest, people that own their own machines/equipment also hire machines when they need need to for varied reasons, ie breakdowns, extra gear needed for larger jobs etc etc. The need to hire machines does not make a person part time. At this point in time K3nnards Concr3t3 Car3 have the largest collection of specialised concrete equipment in Australia and they know a great many reputable contractors that are not part timers as you would like to refer to them as. As for giving advice as a contractor myself this will be my last attempt at helping a fellow forum member due to your kind of sarcastic comments intentional or not. I thought that the point of being on a forum like this was to share information and offer advice when you can and for the greater good of this forum community. If you pulled your head in there might be a few other contributors to this forum and perish the thought in the area of concrete. IMHO Slugger Re: Polished Concrete? 6Oct 26, 2010 11:37 pm Well fair enough then but why pinpoint 1 hirer of equipment? There are many hirers of G/P equipment around australia. If you are going to hire equipment you need to know the process of polishing concrete or you get a result less then desired. Anyone can hire but can anyone do it? A bit like a set of golf clubs you have your own or you hire them, either can hit a straight ball. Beware of the bagging mechanism on those hire units they could take your eye out. And they are very expensive when you add the cost of consumables(diamonds) sometimes $1000 day including hire. Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: Polished Concrete? 7Oct 26, 2010 11:49 pm If you want some grip around the pool, maybe consider exposed aggregate. There are options out there called low exposure which is much less aggressive than standard driveway exposed aggregate. http://www.concretewa.com.au/products_e ... egate.html My experiences with polished concrete are that it is slippery when wet. Re: Polished Concrete? 8Oct 27, 2010 12:40 am Polished concrete is beautiful ... I am getting it on my entire downstairs area but around the pool maybe not. I hadnt thought of honed for around the pool but am looking seriously at honed on our driveway .... Onc? Re: Polished Concrete? 9Oct 28, 2010 5:35 pm Another possible option ^^ or exposed and the stones gound and polished (little mirrors on the same plane ) Nah don't go there ...can be slippery on a slope Though no slope K - all are possible and can be decided 2 days before so no rush See you soon for some grinding concrete polishing Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Cheers Slugger Wow that's cheap Re: Polished Concrete? 11Oct 31, 2010 9:44 am I'm pretty sure thats just to have the concrete honed, not to have it put down as well, or, if it is, I've been wildly overquoted by others my new build thread- Ben Trager https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=89826 my switch build thread (2011) https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=36569 Re: Polished Concrete? 12Oct 31, 2010 9:49 am Yep just honing...placement at about $86 sq mtr for a basic colour mix. Where you are coming from is where you are going to... The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5876 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence. I have pits all along my path, so the water tends to drain away from the house and into the pits. There's only one… 7 13489 |
