Browse Forums Building A New House Re: The Avenue at Casey 443Oct 19, 2010 7:06 pm Syrus I have to admit my build has gone pretty well, it was the lead up that was the problem. My two Site Supervisors and my build CSC have been the best. I had a call from Kate Friday afternoon intrducing herself as mine!! Tash Re: The Avenue at Casey 446Oct 19, 2010 10:07 pm My CSC for my build is Nicole too and she has been fantastic. My SS for the build has been Rob (not the same one as Syrus) and Dean. Both excellent. Building Santorini 26 with M3tric0n at 'The Avenue at Casey" Re: The Avenue at Casey 447Oct 20, 2010 8:00 am I was told last night by someone who works for one of the builders in the display centre that they are all working with mobile phones and that Carlisle were told it would be another three months before they had land lines! Looks like I'm going to have to go back to the art of letter writing as there is no way I am making my twice weekly 1 hr phone calls to my family interstate on my mobile ouch! They have been quoted $13000 for the site cost but I don't think that sounds right. What so you guys reckon? Any help would be appreciated. Maz Re: The Avenue at Casey 449Oct 28, 2010 10:54 am Anyone have any news on stage 7? I was hopeful when they contacted us again last month and said it would be going to the titles office late October, but we haven't heard anything since so I'm feeling dubious once more. Our new build window is in December so if it doesn't happen soon we will likely miss it again an probably won't get to start building until next year Re: The Avenue at Casey 451Oct 28, 2010 2:01 pm Kathy&Ben anyone has the idea about stage10 site cost? please help. Thanks, We are also on Stage 10, and our builder has been told by Linda they cannot get on site until the end of November to do soil tests to determine site costs. Be very wary of committing to a sum before the soil tests are done, as many can testify on this forum that the builders will try to lock you into paying a ridiculous amount upfront. It works like a mobile plugged into a power socket and you pay the price of a landline. At least it is something. It is on the next g netweok so I am assuming we will have reception. A family member was over the other day and there mobile worked on the next g network. We will have to change our mobiles over. Has anyone else got a mobile that works in tthe estate? Re: The Avenue at Casey 453Oct 28, 2010 6:17 pm I am with telstra and have the iPhone 4. I have had no problems with phone connection or wireless broadband with Telstra inside the house. I was also with Optus until late August and got better reception in the estate than I do in my own home which is in the outer eastern suburbs. Our new build window is in December so if it doesn't happen soon we will likely miss it again an probably won't get to start building until next year We too are awaiting news on stage 7, they did say it would take about 2weeks to get the titles back once they had been regsitered and then the conveyancers would organise settlement which we have been told would be about 2-3wks after that so quite possibly late Nov or early Dec. We are just hoping to get on site too before the Christmas break....so close now! Re: The Avenue at Casey 455Nov 01, 2010 3:14 pm Has anyone ever managed to have the person they wree dealing with prior to building changed? The person we have is so utterly useless, but when we have asked their superiors in the past we have been told that no, we had to deal with the person we have. Surely considering we are their paying cutomer we should get to change if necessary? We are getting nowhere at the moment because she just won't answer our questions! ETA Our conveyancer told us that they spoke with Linda last week, who told then that titles would definitely be sent by the end of the month (October). It's now November........ We had similar issues with PD, masters of the run around or just no response. Give your sales person a ring and threaten to cancel the build if you don't get a competent admin person - bet you have answers within 24 hours. Their staff turnover really gets in the way of them knowing what they're doing as everyone seems to be new, and all the good staff they had are now working with other builders. On the land topic - we're still waiting for someone to let us know what's going on as Stage 11 is supposed to title at the same time as 7. Last we heard was file going to titles office by end of October with settlement in mid November, and this was from our conveyancer telling us to have our finance in order. By this theory, we should title in 13 days...bets anyone?? Building Carlisle Homes "Monaco" @ The Avenue at Casey What's happening?... ( wishful thinking!) There's quite a few site scrapes and slabs, only a matter of a few moths now! Even stage 9 is starting to blossom. Our house is moving along smoothly, hopefully it continues! Roof is nearly done, bricks half way, plumbing and gas done, were hoping for electrical, heating, aircon and ducted vac to go in this week as well as bricks n roof to be completed, but that might be too much to hope for as I'm not even surehow long it takes. A few of our doors have been delivered, the glass sliding ones came with the windows. How's everyone else coming along?
