Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building with Eagle Homes 13Oct 18, 2010 10:22 am Thought i'll update this is anyone out there is interested. After further consideration we are looking for an alternative builder. I would rather loose $1000.00 than to loose further dollars down the track. And sorry to say i have lost all trust in the builder. Unless they can put their act together, they have lost a customer. For anyone else in our position most builders are happy to deduct money from their quotation to return the money i deposited on the Eagle home, so that you don't feel like your stuck and if you do anything u will loose that money. We are currently looking at Wisdom homes. Re: Building with Eagle Homes 15Oct 18, 2010 4:14 pm Phillshz Thats good to hear. I think you will have a much better experiance with Wisdom. Keep us updated. Thanks Phillshz, Wisdom does seem to be much more approachable and the sales people are very helpful. Most importantly i noticed a lot more Sydneysiders choose them over the other builders. We are looking at the Provindence 26, thats coming in first. Some others on our list at the moment is the Hayman 25 from Metricon and Rosemary 27 from Lilly Homes. Working out some costings (biggest deciding factor) and some minor adjustments. Will keep you updated.. Hoping to start my very own blog, but between work, building and a baby about to turn one.. MMmmm don't know if i'm capable hehehehe. Are you building or have you already built? Re: Building with Eagle Homes 16Oct 19, 2010 2:15 pm twoplus1 Phillshz Thats good to hear. I think you will have a much better experiance with Wisdom. Are you building or have you already built? Yeah Wisdom seem to get a healthy amount of business, which should be a good sign! I think Lilly is rather expensive(or i might have them confused with someone else) You sure would be busy running a thread and posting on H1 and carrying out your build and life in general. I wont do a blog for myself. I`m building a Nova II 3 bed(20sq) by Jandson Homes in ropes crossing in sydney. It is yet to start(numerous little delays....other peoples incompetence mainly and their reluctance to be able to do their job with any sort of haste) We bought a block of land 5mths ago ,all tilted, levelled and sitting there ready to go already! I should have a site scrape in a month if all goes well, but we have had every time consuming stupid delay possible happen to us so i`m expecting some unforseen delay to pop up anyday Jandson has been good so far,but time will tell Re: Building with Eagle Homes 17Feb 20, 2011 10:40 am Thought I would add to this. After reading through there seems to be alot of problems with Eagle homes. I would have to agree about the Sales People with Eagle Homes, they aren't up front with you and cannot give you a price of what your going to be paying. I've put down my $1000 deposit and really still haven't gotten anything. I had to go through a display home and list everything and determine if it's included or not. This was a good way of finding out myself. Now I've just been hit with a scaffolding fee of $7000 on top of the Base House price. I'm not sure, but I thought this would be included in the BASIX assessment for each dwelling. Trying to get this sorted but not very happy. May even have to go to Fair trading. Re: Building with Eagle Homes 18Jan 08, 2012 6:09 pm They haven't improved over the last year. I spent two months going over everything I wanted included in the tender made sure the paper work sent to head office was correct. Waited 4 weeks for my tender appointment. Tender is incomplete items missing and other items added that were never asked for. Double charging under different names (H class slab, 32mpa concrete) added up to $6500 more, then $5500 for brick upgrade. Was told Basix was $5500, charged $8400 for 3000lt water tank didn't list the basix at all. Refused to add the upgrade package to the tender. Stay away from Eagle Homes save yourself the money and stress Re: Building with Eagle Homes 19Jan 10, 2012 3:06 pm Something else to look out for: If the sales rep doesn't seem to know much about the houses or the cost of extras, if he/she is vague about what can be done. Walk out the door. If you what to add your own items and the sales rep tells you no problems they will credit them on the tender, ring head office for confirmation. But still run as they will get money from you somewhere else. Anyone care to share their latest experience with Eagle Homes..? Would love to hear their latest feedback and concern and advice? Thank you 0 806 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
