Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: Flyscreens in windows and doors after you moved in? 22Apr 29, 2008 10:00 am haywgl We are looking at Crimsafe too - I'm thinking of getting it on all the downstairs windows and 2 stacker doors (if possible) I'm wondering if it's very expensive...I have heard it is, but I don't know what people's idea of expensive is.... I'm guessing it might be around $2000 or am I way off?? At the Sydney Home Show last year, for a 3 stacker sliding door - we were told around $800 per panel - so $1600! We have 2 x 3-stacker doors - so $3200 just for the doors. We are going to the Home Show this weekend - will be interesting to see what they say. After 4 years - we're in! Am i right in thinking that you wouldn't need flyscreens if you have crimsafe? Or would you still need them if you want the doors open but the screen across.. Or would you still need them if you want the doors open but the screen across.. My understanding is that Crimsafe/Amplimesh screens would replace flyscreeens altogether. They also have a 3 point locking mechanism - which is way better than the cheap little aluminium locking mechanism in standard flyscreens. After 4 years - we're in! Re: Flyscreens in windows and doors after you moved in? 25Apr 29, 2008 11:41 am Excellent thanks for that
Well PD is charging nearly $1000 for flyscreens to the whole house, so if I get a quote from Crimsafe I'll see what it works out to be.... Thanks again Re: Flyscreens in windows and doors after you moved in? 26May 01, 2008 5:48 pm Hi,
Just to keep you up to date, i received a response from the http://www.flyscreens.com.au company in regards to retractable screens for my bi-fold doors. Their response was that they are unable to supply retractable screens more than 3600mm in width. For the 2100mm X 2700mm screen, the price is $1100. Hmm more expensive than i thought and too small to fit on our doors anyway. Need to find another solution Re: Flyscreens in windows and doors after you moved in? 27May 10, 2008 9:59 pm Actually there are plenty of insect screens for wide bifold or stacking doors. Retractable or pleated screens are used and Freedom Retractable Screens have Maxi pleated and bifolding screens that can cover any width.
The bifolding screens can also be used in bushfire zones if they have metal mesh infills.
