My wife finally has seen the kitchen, and has no problem with the corner pantry. We just need to talk to the builder so that he could reinforce the base of the pantry. WD Re: My turn: the progress (updated pics 20080507) 73Apr 29, 2008 10:51 pm Bajeeebers! What a kitchen. So much storage! Looks awesome! Can you imagine the conversations that will happen around that kitchen... "Honey, where is the spatula?" "Middle top drawer!" "And what about the saucepan?" "Bottom right drawer..." "I need a mug, too!" "Left top cupboard!!" "Errr...which left? Your left or my left? Left of the pantry? Left of the fridge?" And so on and so on.... [sneakersss] Re: My turn: the progress (updated pics 20080507) 74Apr 30, 2008 1:24 pm My builder called again this morning to recheck the tiles. It was "wrong" tiles again. so far the tiles laying has been delayed for 3 days.
First (2 days ago): tiler had another appointment Second (yesterday): wrong tiles Third (today): "same" tiles but different batch. I dont like the colour. they look quite difference with the sample i have. So, i took the sample of the tile we have and went directly to tile company. unfortunate, they do not have the "old" batch anymore. the tile company gave us some alternative, and now waiting him to call back. PS: have talked to the builder. he said that the floor of the corner pantry is designed so that the owner can step on it in order to get higher stuff. the explanation is enough for me and wife so far. will leave the corner pantry in peace by now. Re: My turn: the progress (updated pics 20080507) 75May 02, 2008 2:01 pm Almost another blunder. After a few "wrong" tiles we finally decided to have a totally new tile: Estone (Marcopolo) Ivory. This afternoon we went to the house, and saw the beautiful tiles being laid, but waittt they were not laid to the ceiling as agreeid on the contract. I showed and read my contract to the tiler (who are very friendly!!!), who then called the builder. The builder realised the fault and asked the tiler to take down the cornice...
Here are two photos i took before above conversation took place. Bath Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ENS Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: My turn: the progress (updated pics 20080507) 76May 02, 2008 2:07 pm That’s why they only wet sealed your walls so far up.

Now there is a worry that the whole house is too blant/whitish. Will more bold colour for the curtain help to liven the room? Any suggestions?
Will have a meeting with builder regarding the skylight, location of 10m2 concrete allowance, etc... The tilers agreed to give laid tiles $45 per square meter. Have decided on the carpet (Bay island from Carpet Choice): plush extra heavy duty nylon at $179 per broadloom. If your worried about the house looking a bit bland, then yes dress it up with curtains and prints and cushions. These things can be changed with trends as you have a blank canvas to work with. Your not far off either Paula Re: My turn: the progress (updated pics 20080507) 80May 08, 2008 10:10 am Just came back from talking with the builder. We have one chance to change to paint colour as the one in the photos is only the "first" coat. Tomorrow they are going to paint the REAL colour . The builder asked me once again the vivid white is what i want. I will write to michelle for opinion after this.... 8 6137 5 6812 |
