Yes it has been a while since I have been to this forum and no, I don't have a dog....no fences etc makes it really hard! What I meant was that the water trap is built into the toilet pan itself so you don't necessarily see it, whereas if you look under your sink you will see the 'S' bend water trap made of plastic. The water trap keeps the pong out and the pong is the smell of the entire sewer system that is wafting up your sewer pipes and into your home. Hope that is a bit clearer! Builders are people too.... The toilets are not in as yet so this smelll seems normal at present.
