Thanks for your patience and feel free to ask me for more help and information! Cheers, Jess Thanks Jess, I did send you a PM this morning. My CSA got a construction manager to call me just now & hopefully that will speed up the process. Spoke to a couple of clients who do slabs for builders, & I was told it was an easy & quick issue to fix as long as the brick hasn't been done yet. Haven't had the chance to speak to any carpenter yet though, but I know even I can fix 1 of the problem within 10 minutes with just a hammer, bracing & nails. The problem with the studs & plates inside are more complicated I guess but don't see how a carpenter can't fix those within a day. Overall, I'm happy with the quality so far & the inspector confirmed as much. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 292Sep 23, 2010 10:24 am Team PD Hey Guys, I've been reading all your posts and just wanted to let you know that I hear you and appreciate all your feedback. Thanks Jess for your understanding. & I can say that I do have a great CSC who has helped me a lot. My SS said that he'll have a meeting with the concreter & carpenter onsite this morning to go through the issues. Overall I should say he's a good SS, he has good subbies working for him. If only he respond to my phone/email/text messages & fix the issues straight away, he would be a perfect SS. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 293Sep 23, 2010 12:27 pm Hi SSAZ, I'm glad to hear that your CSA and SS have been helpful and followed up on this. We've also spoken to them and he assured us he will be giving you dates on when all the repairs will be done. Also, I got your private message and images regarding the brick work and repairs and will pass it on to your SS asap. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have. We'll get this sorted out as soon as we can. Goodluck with everything, Jess. Porter Davis Homes Questions? Hi Jess, The slab has been fixed & I was contacted 4 times by the SS. The Frame will be fixed tomorrow & the sarking issue from pre-plaster inspection will be done on Monday. I will meet him onsite on Monday to go through all the repairs. I surely am a very happy customer now. PD is indeed the most professional builder, didn't have the same treatment from H or Big M when I had problem with them. __________________________________________ Built Camberwell 29 with PD - Hand Over was on 22/12/10 http://ssazcamberwell29.blogspot.com/ Re: Porter Davis homes 296Sep 27, 2010 9:41 pm Hi everyone, Went to hopetoun on Saturday, perfect timing with the grand final on. Was pretty happy with STD inclusions in most things but I think I will be upgrading some Little things, like door handles for kitchen, carpet underlay, front door, floorboards, ceaserstone bench tops. In terms of tiles, visiting nat tiles was really good. The STD range was really good & I was happy with everything they had to offer prob only add in feature tiles in a few strips in showers which hopefully won't cost to much! I really had alot of fun and looking forward to going back to actually make the selections. I found the girls really helpful & very nice. Now I have to visit boral to confirm my brick & render choices. But the colour I absolutely fell in love with was Jasper, followed by paperbark. See my blog for some items I really liked! And some of those are frustrating. to add to the list ... PD does not allow you to get a copy of the contract and think over it before you get to sign this. You find all these things once you have put down the deposit. I cannot sleep over the contract before signing it and changes after the contract signing is a big no no .... sometimes you wonder if you are a customer or not .... We would not go with PD or rather even recommend to anyone. Hi 46fan, I am sorry to hear you have experienced difficulties with your build and understand your frustration. I've had a look into this for you to try and help you out. Blank HIA contracts are available at any time during your search for a home, and prior to Porter Davis taking a deposit. At your actual contract signing, your individual contract is presented with your specific choices and requests for the home along with the relevant drawings. You can arrange a second appointment if you want to go away and think about the contract prior to signing. I'm sorry if this wasn't explained to you before for whatever reasons, but maybe I can help you out. If you would like to send me a private message with your Name, Phone Number, and the details of the house you are building and where, I can get in contact with you and discuss it further. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers, Jess. I'm currently building with Carlisle. I had the contract meeting and was able to take the contract home and read over for about a week before I signed it. No one should be pressured to sign any contract on the spot without having the opportunity to make sure they know what they are signing is correct.. Just crazy I think!!! Re: Porter Davis homes 299Oct 04, 2010 8:00 am Natural Timber Flooring Hi All, I know this thread has been done before, and I've scanned a few areas but still have some questions. My wife and I really want to have natural timber, not engineered timber installed in our new PD Home. Has anyone had experience with an approved tradesman being granted access to install as part of the contract? I understand that they prefer to not delay their build timings but we are keen to get feedback from anyone who had success with their CSA or SS, or any other viable options. Thanks You are able to install your own floorcoverings after handover. We had ours installed the day after handover and then the appliances the day after that. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 14151 I would never build with Fowler homes.
