Read a lot of blogs! There are lots of ideas out there Pot draws - $400 ducted vac - $1700 (inc vac pan in kitchen) bulk heads - we got these done in the rumpus and entry double shower in (ie hand held and dumper in the same shower) water point in the fridge - $141 higher doors - $92 cavity slider on ensuite - $363 extra cupboards in laundry upgrade to stone benchtops in bathroom $308 eaves - $65 per meter door designs - have a look at the corthian doors website and not just the limited selections at hopetoun door locks 192 each smart wiring = $2500 sliding door in laundry rather than standard - with security door on top then i can leave this open to let the heat escape 3phase power alfresco gas point *2 (one to power bbq and the other to power outdoor fireplace- eventually) Some of these prices will be accurate and some not - I am just going off the top of my head Re: Porter Davis homes 277Sep 20, 2010 2:25 pm Mic Tan Hi, we have built a double storey house with PD (Lifestyle) and the house handover happened on Apr 2010. We have plumbing problem when we moved in less than a month - blockage of the kitchen sinks, powder room and all the toilets of upstairs. We called our SS and PD has arranged the drainer to dig the ground and found out that there is a hole on the paip underneath the ground. After the repair done, our SS told us that it's none of his business and he did it extra for us. What could he say so??? Also, in less than one month time, our tv antenna guy told us that there are broken roof tiles on our roof. We requested SS to fix it asap to avoid any water leaking. But he refused again. We threatened to complain this to the building association etc. They quickly sent someone to check and replace the broken roof tiles. But few weeks ago, we heard the water dropping again in our ensuite. Luckily this time the maintainance team has sent someone in and repair. Last week, another issue - unusual situation, the roof guys told us that PD has forgotten to install/lay the roof insulation for us!!! We are so disappointing with PD. It's our first house and how could PD mess it up. Hi Mic Tan, I am sorry to hear you are having difficulties with your build and understand your frustration. If you want to send me a private message with your Name, Phone Number, and the details of the house you are building and where, I can get in contact with you and discuss it further. I'm here to help. My wife and I signed up to built the Foxley 29 on the 5/9. Haven't heard a peep from PD at this stage. Have contacted the Sales office we signed up with for response, still waiting after 2 days. Not starting off well, but fingers crossed it will all improve. We're doing a knock down in the SE Suburbs. Will keep everyone posted on our progress Hi George and congratulations on your new home purchase. The Foxley 29 is a great choice. Sorry you have not been contacted yet, generally the CSA calls within 2 weeks once the deposit has been paid and paperwork has been processed, so you should be due to be contacted very soon. I can chase this up for you if you like. Feel free to private message me your details, and the name of your CSA and I will find out what's going on. Good luck with everything. Cheers, Jess. SS yep havent met him yet, CSC yep writes that we have "weekly construction calls" ahhhhh yes last time we spoke was about 3 months ago All in all from I have been more than a little disappointed - from having to chase up a tile appointment 9 months after the colour appointment and 3 months after contract signing. (it had to be a post contract variation!) - no one knowing any prices of upgrades and getting back to me weeks after I have asked - being given different information from the original CSC to this one - my bank simply losing patience with having to ask for documents up th 3 times - my build was the last to start in my stage April 10 site start yep try Aug 10 - a general lack of interest in my build To sum up I get the feeling like I am bothersome to them and they wish I would just go away Unfortunately for PD this is enough for me to re consider all future builds with you. Erin Re: Porter Davis homes 280Sep 20, 2010 4:38 pm @erin, we too had some issues with PD for our house. And some of those are frustrating. to add to the list ... PD does not allow you to get a copy of the contract and think over it before you get to sign this. You find all these things once you have put down the deposit. I cannot sleep over the contract before signing it and changes after the contract signing is a big no no .... sometimes you wonder if you are a customer or not .... We would not go with PD or rather even recommend to anyone. Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12320 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74688 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105494 |
