It went in at the beginning of march so its took 7 months. I am so exited, can't believe we are finally going to get underway. I have ordered the water tank which should be delivered in 3 weeks. Plunkett are doing the septic tank and electrics. They estimated about 8 months for building from concrete slab going down. At least I know that some time within the next year we will have a house. We started the process back in january so it seems to have took for ever to get to this stage. Still all is forgiven, that is is they finally get their finger out and start things moving. Will keep you all updated with progress. Cheers, Toby. Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 167Oct 02, 2010 4:42 pm quick update for all. Our house is finally finished, we had PCI last week, and are hoping to get the keys ASAP. Overall, we are very happy with how the build went. We got a great suprise this week, when a cheque for $8500 arrived from Plunkett, as they had over estimated the provisional sums. Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 168Oct 02, 2010 4:59 pm Axle JOhn Congratulations, So pleased for you. It's so good to read such a positive post. Has it been 7 months for your build. Good luck. Will you be moving in straight away or do you plan to decorate and do floorings first. Cheers, Toby Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 170Oct 03, 2010 12:41 pm Prelim 24/5 Pre-Start 24/7 Finalised Variations 24/9 DA & BL Issued 24/9 Site works start this week (hopefully). Has anyone considered bamboo floors (pros/cons etc) and what is the consensus on the flooring of living areas? We are torn between tiles and timber (likely engineered), not sure which way to go. Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 171Oct 04, 2010 12:21 am Congrats to you both toby and alexjohn. My progress isn't that fast. Only midway through bricklaying though started 3/9, as only one brickie is on the job. Good thing though he is experienced and have total control over face brick laying with consistency and good workmanship. I hope steel roof fixing will speed up a bit. Cheers, AG Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 172Oct 05, 2010 12:11 pm Hi just wondering how much you paid for your flooring and carpet? regards Marcel mrslin Hi all Anyone building with Plunkett Homes in Perth? We just signed prelim contract with them , and so far are happy with the progress. Will appreciate any information and feedback about them. We are getting our flooring, painting, windows treatment, and lighting ourselves after the handover to save cost. Had a look at flooring in Trevors Carpet and we might get blackbutt engineered timber flooring and solution dyed nylon carpet with them as the prices are a bit lower than other shops. Can anyone suggest any painter, windows treatment, lighting shop, & electrician in Perth? We will be putting downlights in most areas. Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 175Nov 04, 2010 12:17 am HI everyone WE now have a water tank. The earthworks have been done. They are damping the earthworks on friday (what ever that means). The concrete slab is going down next monday / tuesday. They are also almost ready for doing the trench and putting in the electrics from the road - about 180m away. It is so exiting. Seeing the earthworks has given us some idea how the concrete pad will look. Will keep you all updated. Cheers, Toby. Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 176Nov 18, 2010 5:28 pm G'day everyone, It's been a while since I last updated this thread. My build has finally reached the roof fixing stage. The steel roof trusses are all being fixed, including plumbing, electrical wiring and gas fitting. Roof tiles are being delivered these couple of days, should be laid by end of Nov. My brick works took a total of 6.5 weeks, because of the "handmade" type which the tradie said is harder to lay. I recall Wrexy's progress is about the same as mine. Wonder if your roof tiles are already completed? Hope the rests are having good progress. Cheers, AG Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 177Dec 05, 2010 9:09 am HI everyone OUr bricks are finally going up. They seem to be making good progress. What a week! Our build is in Karnup and it's right in the centre of where everyone was evacuacted from with the fire. We were very anxious as we could not get to our land for a couple of days. We were worried about the trees and the water tank, then we felt guilty when we thought about all our poor neighbours who had a lot more to worry about, some being their lives. Any way panic over and on with the build. The bricks are up down one side of the house and they are making excellent progress with the other side. What a fabulous experience it is watching the house grow. I will keep you all updated. Good luck with your's. Cheers, Toby. Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 178Dec 24, 2010 11:43 am A very happy festive season to all. A pre-Christmas update: PH informed up that PC would be in October and so expected the keys November. Great news! Organised painters, flooring ect. Very excited to be in our new home by Christmas....but alas, more delays! They managed to get things sorted out and had a big rush to get our house completed prior to their Christmas Break, even orgaising the PCI-2 for 22nd Dec and also sending us an invoice for the final payment prior to us accepting the house. Due to numerous delays during our build and the fact that PH never seemed to prioritise our build, we turned the tables and said we were unavailable until the new year. I guess that it would be in the interest of PH to get the house off their books over the Christams/NY period. The end result is they don't get their money and we don't get the keys, which doesn't bother us due to Christmas and we can't re-schedule the painters and flooring until the new year. They also have slugged us for an additional 5000k for PS increases!!! Best wishes! Heading for the hills...... Re: Building with Plunkett Homes Perth 179Jul 31, 2011 11:44 am Hi I am thinking of building with plunkett any advise from start up and onwards. things to watch out for, and how is their build quality compare with other builders. Do you have any recommendation for painters and tilers and timber suppliers and installers. We are getting the same kinds of figures. Have you committed to a design/builder yet?
