Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 26, 2010 12:49 pm After nearly a year of being on here are getting to a stage where we are about to start building, thought it was about time to share pics/plans. This is the front facade - pretty boring - but plan to maybe render front brick piers once handed over - not sure if I want the render, will wait to see it in the flesh before we decide. Also drove past on Saturday and he was working then as well. Our contract days countdown can begin, thought this day would never come but thank goodness it has and can start to see something happening. You guys seemed to be held up with brickies, a lot of houses in our little estate are waiting on brikies as well, bricks were delivered weeks ago and are still sitting there waiting. Hope there is some action there for you soon, it's one thing we learn thru this process is patience. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. A little birdie has told me that they are on site today and are digging all the trenches for the plumbing and there is another pile like this at the back of our block - will drive by on my way home tonight Out of the 20 or so blocks on our little estate, ours was the first that I have seen a pile of rocks at, the others had a few little ones but that's it, it seems the undergound critters pushed them all onto ours. Didnt even get a chance to ask anyone if they wanted them as I drove by last night and they have already removed them and promptly sent me an email this morning with photographs of the rock pile and the section out of our contract to advise that we have hit rock and remind us of the provisional sum allowed for in the contract. Now just waiting on the $$$$.. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Congrats to you on your decorating thus far, I think I have already commented on your carpet, the one we have chosen is discontinued and the other we picked is your carpet, so it was great to see a pic of it down. Look forward to seeing the rest of your landscaping come together as the drive looks fantastic, what a difference it makes when one thing gets done.
