Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Apr 21, 2008 2:44 am First time poster here, currently building with EB. We need some help with our kitchen cupboards. I have chosen Essa Stone, Purity on Bench tops (similar to snow in Caeserstone), stainless splashback and one wall in the kitchen design is full height cupboards. It has a island bench also. We have not decided on flooring as yet but will possibly choose - spotted gum if we go timber or a off white porcelain tile. I really like modern/contemporary designs with white, charcoal, wenge and timber finishes. Our external and some internal stains will be Merbau (similar to Jarrah) so were thinking maybe Laminex Burnished Wood? Would this be 'safe' considering we are not deciding on flooring just yet?

Have been hoping for another EB customer to join. Most of the "vocal" members are Melbournians buidling with PD Not that there's anything wrong with that. Presume you are in Sydney lik us? We're just going through our contract with EB now, checking everything & signing within the week, so you are well up on us, timewise. Please post photos - I think I'll be needing inspiration. Gday and welcome to the forums. We finished building with Eden Brae last year and are very happy with the finished product. For the kitchen we choose Laminex 'Chocolate Pear' which is similar to Wenge but not as dark or as fine a grain. We choose a white Cesar stone b/top cant remember the exact colour but it was the whitest without the flecks thru it. Stainless kickboard and stainless appliances including a 900 upright stove. The tiles we choose are a 600x600 porceline satin tile from World of Tiles in Castle Hill (Victoria rd), we found that Di Lorenzo didnt have much of a range to choose from and the showroom staff were there to do no more than help us fill out the form. They had no idea about design and offered no suggestions. The kitchen manufacturer for Eden Brae is in Toongabbie and although they dont have a huge up to date showroom, they do offer a wide range of material selection and I found them happy to do what ever I wanted. Kitchens Splash Back - Stainless Steel Bench Top - Essa Stone "Purity" Cupboard Doors - "Burnished Wood" Draws - "Burnished Wood" Kickboard - "Black" The Burnished Wood will give your kitchen a wow factor, very nice. This colour should go with any timber you choose for your floor, and still complement each other. Essa Stone is the only stone samples I don’t have, but they have a good website. Good luck! We are feeling alot more confident about 'Burnished Wood'. Shady, we used 'chocolate pear' in our last house, it looks fantastic and recommend to everyone. We will be starting a blog with lots of pics in the next few weeks so will keep you all posted.
