Browse Forums Paving & Concreting 1 Aug 27, 2010 12:48 pm Hi guys, House just finished recently and I'm looking to do some exposed aggregate for my driveway. Can't seem to find many recommended concreters on the forum, so I thought I'd ask. I'm located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne in Lalor (Carlingford Estate). I'm assuming that there are various colours I can pick from as well, so would someone be able to recommend me a colour too? I'm really bad with colours =\. http://flic.kr/p/8vFTUi Bad photo, I know. Re: Exposed Aggregate Recommendations! 4Aug 28, 2010 10:05 am Just had a couple of quotes from a few guys, but the prices were very different from each other so I'm not sure which one is ******* =\. One quote was around $2000 and another quote was $4000... Could someone tell me how much roughly it is per square metre for Exposed Aggregate? Cheers! Re: Exposed Aggregate Recommendations! 5Aug 28, 2010 12:50 pm A friend of mine used these guys they did a fantastic exposed http://www.facebook.com/pages/Melton-Au ... 165?ref=ts Re: Exposed Aggregate Recommendations! 6Aug 28, 2010 12:57 pm Hi Xpire, If you have a search around there are quite a few threads that look at this already, not in that area so can't recommend anyone directly. However the actual 'concrete' cost varies considerably depending on the mix your using in exposed aggregate. So depending on the concrete colour and the actual aggregate that is added it can vary quite substantially. As a *rough* guide anything from $80-120 per square meter is within the realm of possibility with the popular mixes. We were even quoted up to $150 per sqm by one contractor, so it pays to shop around. Then some concreters will quote + excavation costs or include it in the sqm price so just make sure you're comparing apples with apples between your quotes. Also its worth considering if you have any other jobs, like concrete paths etc you want done to consider getting it done in one go, you'll tend to get a better deal overall as their overhead costs won't vary so its just the extra concrete and labour.
