Re: Laminate Servery 4Feb 17, 2014 9:53 am Hi, I am looking at the same raised servery for my kitchen as I want to hide the sink on the island bench. Did you end up going with this and how much was it? I'm hoping its not too expensive. Here's a photo of my kitchen design. Have to make changes in pre start coming up shortly. If I had my time again I might have contacted a cabinet maker - independent of a kitchen company and get a quote. Thing is they'll realise the work for them is a long way off cause they'll have to wait until after handover so some may not be too eager to help out. Good Luck. Re: Laminate Servery 6Feb 17, 2014 10:30 am Omg...what? $3000 to have the raised servery? How is that price justified? Do you think I'd be able to get a quote and ask if the building company if I can use them to install it or will they not allow it? Re: Laminate Servery 7Feb 17, 2014 10:38 am At the time it was a display home upgrade so I think they took liberties and ripped us off. Might not be the same for your company- should be able to get a ball park price from them. They won't allow you to use your own contractors during the building process. It will state in your contract something to the effect that no work can be undertaken by you during the building process. Only option is to wait, that's why we went through them in the end - didn't want to be disappointed if it wasn't done right. Depending on the material and size of the servery the price could be correct. Timber veneer and polyurethane is not cheap!
