My friend just called telstra and telstra said that he has to pay $299 for the phone connection and telstra couldn't provide the internet in that area. For those who already have phone and internet, which provider are you using? How much do you pay? Thank you very much for your time. Is your friend in Wyndham Waters? They have internet provision problems. Williams Landing should be ok. We have CMUX/ISAM's there which provide ADSL. Hi Kaytee My friend's lot is 253 which is next to our metre release. He is still trying to call providers about the phone. Or do you think $299 for the phone connection is a reasonable price? I'd be surprised if they can't get the internet. $299 is probably the going price for a full connection of the telephone. ie: connection at exch and to the 1st socket. That wont include the cable from the street to the house. Once they have the line connected I would have thought they should have no problem getting the internet via a few providers. I connected with Internode for phone & adsl2 and had no probs (Internode is a reseller of Telstra). Telstra probably say there is no connection due to the issues with surrounding areas such as wyndham waters, but we are ok in this estate - once you have a phone line connected you should find they say adsl2 is ok. And yes I had to pay $299 for a new connection - its a standard telstra charge Re: williams landing 1064Aug 26, 2010 7:03 pm For any recent occupants... once you completed your new home you would have notified Cedar Woods of your intention to occupy - within 30 days of the date of occupancy they will inspect the property to check for compliance. If there are issues they will email you the list and once all issues have been rectified they will re-inspect and email the compliance notice. You will not be placed into the landscaping queue until the compliance notice has been issued. The fencing will still go ahead so don't assume the fence means you have compliance (like I did). I found out the hard way when after 3 months of patiently waiting for the front landscaping to be done I contacted Cedar Woods and was advised there was an outstanding non-compliance issue which had been emailed to me but I never received. The issue was minor (missing window coverings) and rectified straight away but it's obviously delayed me. Re: williams landing 1065Aug 28, 2010 9:53 am SMART METERS: They are coming, but when? Have they been presented as a choice or automatically installed with electricity connection (applicable to 2010 connections)? Have any WL occupants been notified of their impending introduction? Have they been presented as a choice or automatically installed with electricity connection (applicable to 2010 connections)? Have any WL occupants been notified of their impending introduction? we are in the process of building and havent got our metre yet I would expect it to be a smart metre as we are renting close by and got a letter from powercorp that they wil be swaping our old one out soon. There is no choice everyone is getting them. Have they given you any indication as to when stage 8 is meant to be settled? Re: williams landing 1070Aug 30, 2010 7:48 pm Taken by my Dad. He was just making sure we were up and working in the yard...... lol. He works at Laverton RAAF base (but can't land there now). Sad to see what is happening to it, but excited we bought there. In the long run they will close this base down and move everyone to Point Cook. It looks like some sort of railway signal station, or maybe something to do with the RAAF base? It looks pretty old. Be nice to turn it into a cafe / museum/ gallery with historical memorabilia. Re: williams landing 1075Aug 31, 2010 5:35 pm $400,000 to 420,000........
