Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 15, 2008 9:50 pm So surfing the net, as you do..
Looked up Marriott Waters - found some house and land packages and was browsing to check them out when I found OUR Lot number - double checked our lot number.. on OUR street - and the exact land size advertised. http://www.realestate.com.au/cgi-bin/rs ... 1208258761 Absolutely dumbfounded - keep thinking there must be a typo but in lot, street and size.. Busting to call someone to ask 'what the?' - we have a contract.. Weird hey.. Could be that it's an old ad that they haven't taken off yet but it'd be interesting to hear what they have to say for themselves. They probably paid for it to run for X number of weeks. We still have for sale signs up on land in our development that was sold months ago. Re: How would you feel if you found your land on the market 7Apr 15, 2008 10:31 pm Hmmm it happened to us!!!! AVJennings sales rep tried to sell our land from underneath us!!! We got a call 1 working day before settlement and someone was putting a deposit down on our block for another h&l package!!!!
The prospective buyers were not happy, being stuffed around, but it was basically signed, sealed & delivered and we were not willing to re-sell the block even though they offered to buy it. Call tomorrow and put your mind at ease. Re: How would you feel if you found your land on the market 8Apr 15, 2008 10:33 pm Thanks everyone - that's really comforting actually - hopefully that's all it is.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll find out it just simply hasn't been removed.. then can have a giggle in relief. Will ensure I update this post when I get some news. I can't believe that happened to you - well actually I can imagine it happening in this industry but its such a huge stuff up to make. Building in Lyndhurst Carlisle Atlantique Re: How would you feel if you found your land on the market 10Apr 16, 2008 12:11 am I have heard stories of land and houses being sold to two buyers and they had to go to court to settle who actually has legal entitlement to it. best you nip it in the bud asap as it could be someones stuff up which may cause you some inconvenience or even cost potential buyers. Re: How would you feel if you found your land on the market 12Apr 16, 2008 9:30 am SO FINALLY SOME RELIEF this morning
Called Burbank and they say they have not been notified of a sale. Called Mai at MW and she said its just a communication error that they should have removed it and will chase it up. *phew* tell you that was really horrible! Paul Re: How would you feel if you found your land on the market 15Apr 16, 2008 6:30 pm Our land is still listed on realestate.com more than 6 months after us signing the contract. In this market, the real estates don't particularly care about removing sold blocks. It has two advantages... The main being they get people ringing about that lovely block... And offer them another one... And it looks like they have heaps on the books! Electrical Engineer... Don't hold that against me... And keen owner builder...
