Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Jul 22, 2010 9:39 pm I'm currently studying interior design and my current assignment is on Lighting/Electrical for an existing home that I'm "renovating" for my "first clients". I'm interested in the Home Automation stuff but am completely novice at it all....so in basic language how does it connect etc to your lighting, air con, security etc? This "home" that i'm renovating for the assignment will need to be re-wired and I'll need to show an understanding of how the installing a home automation can be done to an existing property. Any advice appreciated. They do look primitive like a big timer on the sockets. Or have a electrician install a different system into the house so that none of it can be seen i had it done on our house this way but was kinda $$$ but would be drastically cheaper if house was being built and wired for the first time. Is still pretty cool you can control every light, fan, lamp, tv, in and around your house with one remote tho. Re: Home Automation Installation Q 4Jul 27, 2010 3:18 pm thanks so much!
