So my weatherboard house is uninsulated - i've been talking about this a while, but now I have some motivation...
By uninsulated I mean nothing, nadda, zip, apart from the internal paint, plasterboard, airgap (about 90mm) and timber boards.
My current line of thinking is:
removal of current boards (some rotted, plus the paint is so poorly applied that i'd have to fully strip them to get a good paint back on them.
install of bulk insulation in the gap (R2.5 SoundScreen from Bradford is currently leading the way)
then wall wrap (any suggestions on actual products and how they vary?)
installation of new cement weatherboards (with a pre-painted coat prior to installation)
Is there anything else I can do that is practical and cost effective to add to that list in terms of insulation?
I've seen you can get different types of wrap, are they much the same? or what? I'm finding it hard to obtain objective information about these products apart from shiny side inwards for installation, don't run it taught and various different staple attachments styles (stinger caps look awesome).
