Outside of Paris, just about everything closes between about 1 and 3. Shop assistants go to work serving lunch in the cafe around the corner. We've just had dinner, decidedly non-French sausages in onion gravy and garlic mash (but yummy on a cold, wet day). But I don't think it is too late to open a bottle of wine. For those that aren't watching le Tour de France Cadel Evans on Sunday had a fall 7km into the stage, he ended the day in the yellow leaders jersey.
