Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place!
So, my husband and I have been looking for the right house/block of land for quite a while and I think we might have found it!
Its on a great big block of land (900 m², house takes up 250 m² including garage) - almost impossible in Sydney in our price range.
But of course there's a trade off... well, actually 2...
- 1. Its on a main road- 3 lanes each way. That's the only reason we can afford it. We are thinking a tall brick fence and decent planting would block out the sound pretty well. We're renting on a inner city main road at the moment (2 lanes each way) so we'd be able to handle the sound, but I'm a little concerned about resale on a main rd....
2. It was a bungalow that was converted to a medical centre about 10 years ago. The layout has been left pretty much in tact- right down the the 1960's pink bathroom. Its in great nick, but it will require a lot to get it back into a home again.
Our lovely agent has told us about it before it goes on the market to see if we're interested. It is an absolute bargain.
So, to (finally) get to the point.... from those who are seasoned renovators and property gurus- is it madness to even consider it for our first home?
Thanks
Edited to add: Sorry, I dont have any photos of the actual property- but its quite similar to this- though the place we're looking at isn't as 'medical' as this place- its kept alot more of its house features like gardens, etc.
