Building With Mirvac @ Middleton Grange?

Visited block today. Finally they started Tuesday and by Friday they had cut and filled entire block into the 3 level areas and they have done piering (I think thats what u call it)... drill holes and fill with concrete all along where walls will be plus more. Will prob call Pjt Mgr tomorrow to see when slab will be getting done as I would like to watch and take pics.

Went looking at Bamboo flooring Saturday... confused more?!?! This is the major thing we got to arrange as most other things are included or can wait.

That's good to hear i was there on Sunday too and realise that they put a small curve on our land, i guess that was one of the changes they had to make so good to see something.

hey nice to hear that the building has kicked off for you guys.

hopefully no additional piering is needed. one of our provisional allowances in the tender was additional piering due to possibly being in the zone of influence of the sewer main. it added an extra 2grand to the cost which is subject to change if more is required.

let me kno how the excavation goes.

Hi guys as i mentioned before anyone needing timber decking for backyard contact Shamus Cooke on 0418496427 from Original Timber Decking NSW. We met with him already and saw him at the HIA Home Show and has some very competitive pricing compare to others we have seen, just tell him that you got his number from rod & jenn and he will look after us at Middleton Grange, the more people we get the cheaper it will be for all of us. Hope to get more tradies to do jobs that we may need at cheaper prices this way.

Is anyone looking at Bamboo flooring? We have had a quote from Style Plantation (they are expensive), we are looking at other options.

There were some really nice Bamboo flooring at the home show this year we might still have the tradies & suppliers megazine if i find it i will let you now.

Thanks, I got a sample from them at home show and they are next on my list to get quote from. They told me $95 layed at show.

Style plantation written quote is $134 per metre2 layed

Went to importer, can buy for $44m (although only narrow boards, not wide that we like), then get a contact from him to lay for $30 so would be $74 but didn't feel as professional as Style Plantation but SP are too expensive as quality appears same.

Will contact BambooFlooringStore and if they come across as being pros and can do for $90 ish per metre then will prob go with them. Would prefer supplier to do job start to finish then if problems easier to deal with

Fingers crossed slab tomorrow.....

Slab was poured on Monday.
Frame coming Tue/Wed next week.... its all go.... finally!

hi everybody building a house in middleton grange opposite metricon homes next door to lilly homes owner building wanted to try to see how we go hopefully doing the right thing we also have to put in deb plus piering about 21 of them because we have sewer line running right around land so far plan is at sydney water waiting for an approval then it goes back to council to get cc so we can go ahead to dig

Finally we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, just got our final consolidation including the 6 months price increase from M****c which came in at $2.500. I think it's pretty good as we were expecting over $5g and only weeks away from building.

Just happened to be in and see you posted.

Busy doing bricks now, only managed 2.5 days last week due to rain. Hopefully this week better and onto roof next week. All progressing well apart from that. Starting to look at blinds, decking, landscaping more now as maybe finished in 10 weeks they reckon?!?
Very exciting.

I hope your building commences soon and that the weather holds up for us all

as we went for a little walk around the area while the kids played at the children's day out on Saturday that Mirvac held for the kids at the park. Looking good.

Yeah we are on Jessie St , close to the park.

What childrens day was this in the park? We didn't see that otherwise would have gone.

We found out by luck, as one of the tenants there told us the week before that they would have a kids fun day at the park. So on the day we spoke to the community organizer and she will email us the dates that these fun days will be held later in the year so i will pass on the information to you as my wife has her business card. They provide food and games for kids for 2 hours my kids had a ball there and everyone is really nice. :sh:
