Only a few days ago that I noticed that it only have 1 star energy rating comparing to some of the other fridges. Is this due mostly to the ice maker constantly running (as with other ice maker fridges ?). This is the only thing that I am debating at the moment before buying this fridge. Went to look at it in person today and the lowest we saw was ~$2600, has anyone got this recently for the ~$2200 mentioned previously? Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 189Jun 20, 2010 10:09 am I think the price tag of $2200 came with the 702L labelled model. Now they have renamed is to 685L (or whatever it is exactly) they are saying it's a new model therefore the higher price tag (albeit exactly the same fridge). The star rating is being revised for fridges. This fridge was about 3 stars on the previous rating scale. Now it is 1 star. I think the highest rated Samsung fridge on the new scale is about 2.5 stars. The new scale seems to be a lot tougher and I doubt many current fridge models are rating very high. They said that alot of the other fridges have not changed to the new star rating yet. So some of the fridges that have a 3.5 star rating wouls only be equivalent to a 1 star in the new rating system. If that makes sense. So in actual fact the samsung fridges are rated at 3.5 stars. Handover date 3rd August 2010 WOOHOO!!! Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 192Jun 20, 2010 7:41 pm Went around a few place today to look at this fridge. We were told that the star rating don't mean much when comparing fridges, look at the actual kw usage on the rating label. Some have a slightly better star rating but are not that much different in term of kw / $$ per year. i.e paying much more for half a star but not save much in running cost. Rentra Vision in Highpoint was willing to give it to us for $2450, but they say it was an only ends today 'special' end of year price. This was after being back and forward 4 times for a manager's special, the sale person was keen to make a sale. I'm pretty sure that was their near 'best price' as the (shift ?) manager kept looking at the screen doing the number and said no. They also didn't appear like they want to hold the fridge in their 'warehouse' for long. We haven't settle yet so can't get it delivered to the new house. We ponder if we could get it for a bit less and the other thing was we have not 100% confirm it could fit so did end up buying it. One of the other store was pushing the LG one as he said these days LG have better 7 days warranty support, where as he has customer complaining about samsung warranty turn around. Can any one add any truth to this? Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 193Jun 21, 2010 11:14 am We paid for the 702L fridge back in Dec last year but couldn't have it delivered as the house wasn't ready. Our fridge was delivered 2 weeks ago and it is the 684L! What a pain! I don't notice the difference as i had a tiny fridge previously but it's not very good that they should sell the 702L model and then deliver the 684L model! I guess the 702L is no longer available? Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 194Jun 21, 2010 5:41 pm l was just wondering has anyone had a samsung fridge for longer then 2 years. l'm just wondering how they perform over time? I think the 684 and the 702 is the same fridge. They just had to change the sizing because of new regulations Handover date 3rd August 2010 WOOHOO!!! Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 196Jun 22, 2010 8:23 pm bigdenis Has anyone purchased the replacement filter cartridge yet? Mine is due soon, and was quoted $150 to $180!!! That's potentially over $300 every year! Hi bigdenis, how often does the filter need to be replaced? [i]We built in Point Cook and are loving our new house. Regulations changed as to what could be included in the volume of the fridge, therefore the size of the fridge was downgraded. I'll probably change mine yearly though - it's just too expensive! Re: Review - Samsung Fridge SRS702GDHSS 199Jun 24, 2010 10:57 am We have had ours a few months now, but thought Iwould add this to the thread for others. We love it, it's great for our family. We noticed that there were tiny weeny little splits?? on the top edge of the little door that opens in the front. It seemed that it was starting to rust. Also the water tray in the water dispenser was starting to rust underneath, and we are very vigilant with wiping it. No problems with claiming under warranty. They guys came this morning with the parts and said that they had found some other parts that were also rusting that we had not noticed. He showed us and then said, we won't replace these parts today we will replace the whole front covers of the fridge and freezer otherwise we will be calling them back in 6 months time to do it anyway. Wow, what service! *actually good because DD accidentally scratched it with a magnet, so no more scratch!!* So keep that in mind. www.themaxbuild.blogspot.com forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=20717&start=300 www.leahspaperpassion.blogspot.com i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 17486 It is true that a builder can ignore your independent inspection report as it is not part of the contractual arrangement but that is stupid because he cannot avoid fixing… 9 46979 The worst thing you can do is sign a building contract without a pre contract review.
