They now say Tuesday, but most likely Friday (or next Friday). What is still remaining: Fixing Carpet Correctly locating bathroom accessories Painting replaced eaves Painting flashing A little more painting around the front porch Putting in Extra Weep Holes below 1 window Rear Gutter Repair Installing Front Door Handle Brick Cleaning I think that is it! Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - PCI Done - Handover soon 106Jun 19, 2010 3:37 pm Grrrrrr I hate it when people can't meet a deadline that they set. These things have been outstanding for ages now. If you haven't already it might be time to send an email to HO venting your frustrations. There is still soo much to do /fix. Have you paid close attention to your aluminium window frames - do you have any scratches on them? My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - PCI Done - Handover soon 108Jun 25, 2010 2:47 pm Well we are still waiting for handover. It was suppose to be Tuesday (22nd), until I had to cancel when the carpet installer called me that day and mentioned he was going to be there Wednesday to fix the carpet issues. There are still some bathroom accessories missing and in wrong places. I presume the person who installs these is illiterate. Handover is now scheduled for Tuesday (29th), so fingers crossed. If we do have handover then, it will have been 34 days from the PCI and approximately 138 days from when they started on the interior. For reference, my parents in law's home took 91 days to build (double storey / 35 squares). Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - PCI Done - Handover Tuesday 109Jun 25, 2010 3:36 pm I hope it really does happen this time. I can totally relate to things not happening when you are told they will be. Very Grrrrr. Maybe you could just pitch a tent out the front in protest till its done Building at The Ponds Land reg 3/12/09, Land settled 18/12/09 Approved by Design Panel 16/11/09, Submitted to council 24/11/09, Approved by Council 21/1/10 Site Start 21/5/10 http://andyminpondsbuild.blogspot.com/ https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19800 Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - PCI Done - Handover Tuesday 110Jun 25, 2010 3:48 pm Yeah it is very frustrating for me now. We still aren't fully packed, cause we know how unreliable EB can be! We don't have too many boxes left, so will probably have to move some stuff in two stages. At least this weekend I know there will be some point in going to Bunnings and buying a few things (as well as getting lost). Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - Handover Delayed (5th time?) 111Jun 28, 2010 4:56 pm Well my handover has been delayed again for I think the 5th time. I've lost count now! Anyway, the problem this time appears to be the Rear Gutter near my Rumpus which is bent. Despite pointing it out at PCI, and sending a million emails saying it still wasn't done, it hasn't been fixed. I really don't know what to say about this anymore. Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - Handover Delayed (5th time?) 112Jun 28, 2010 9:54 pm Ok I am convinced your SS and mine are off at the pub together. I keep getting BS excuses for my frame being delayed a few more days, then a few more and a few more. Can they do hand over and fix the gutter later? I wish they would just get it sorted for you. I really don't know what is going on! I just want my house now though. Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - Handover Delayed (5th time?) 114Jun 29, 2010 8:00 am Hope you hear some good news soon Michael. I met someone a few days ago building with Eb and they are expecting handover this week. (first date they have been given) and I believe it falls within the 26 week contract excluding the christmas period. When you say that it is still within contract do you mean EB are claiming 56+ days on top of the 26 weeks as rain and christmas? Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - Handover Delayed (5th time?) 118Jun 29, 2010 8:26 pm They are allowed 5 weeks off because off Christmas, despite this they had just 1 week off. Considering all this, they are 14 days over due, so with rain delays I'm sure they still comply. Re: Building an EB Memphis 31 - Handover Delayed (5th time?) 120Jun 30, 2010 8:25 am I think they use the BOM's data for calculating rainy days. Now, do they actually use data from the weather station that is closest to the building site in question - I don't know, I'm guessing it would be "too much" for them - maybe they look at a whole region rather than individual stations? BTW, has anyone managed to find out from them when should their contract end? Is that info supposed to come from the CSO? Has anyone asked?
