It did take a while to get through - but I thouroughly enjoyed it!!

Lighting can make a room so good luck with it - no doubt you will get it right I look forward to seeing your choices!

belzey, it's good that you enjoyed it... and our never-ending saga with M is still ongoing.
they haven't finished the 3-month maintenance issues yet.

i really want to order lights online.. but i'm worried that because i don't see the actual lights, i might not like it when i receive it.

i'm really hoping to finalise our light choices.

SuH, good to hear that the defects (if they were indeed defects) weren't noticeable.
actually, when I was thoroughly looking at it, i don't think they are defects. it's the natural colour of the timber. i think the defects were the small dents at the sides (which is not noticeable at all when hung).

VJ - I just ordered my lights online from MICA (they are a homeone member too

) They were delivered straight away - and for free!!

They look exactly like they do on the website - i was very happy, prices are good too.

They do have a thing on their website that if the product doesn't meet your needs you can return it....or something like that

I am the same having redi shade for the whole house, i only put up a curtain for one sliding door only, so you are not alone

hehehe. I have bought some lights online and will have electrician to come and install tomorrow but i still need more and will have to keep looking for a right one

Your choice of furniture is great, can’t wait to see more photos..

how long have you been using your Redi-Shade?
ours have been here for 6 months!

so what sort of lights have you bought?
we're also looking for an electrician (have already called some for quotes), can you pass on your electrician's details and cost per light?

re: our furniture, i will surely post the photos once they are delivered.

Hi VJ,

i think i will have to have redi shade for a few months.. only order some roller blinds for toilet/bathroom and it will take approx 4-6 weeks to make and install... and for the rest of the house, although i have bought rod and curtain already, but i don't think i will have time to put them up yet...

I will PM you my electrican contact details, he is recommended from one of the forum member too

I think we will have to wait for another 6 months

before we could get the proper window coverings.
We have other priorities at the moment.

Will check the website of your light supplier.. hope to find the one that I've been looking for!

don't know if i should still answer this.. it's been months since you posted this.. but anyway, yes, we used our own electrician and bought our own lightings. We haven't finished changing all of them yet though...

dvs_dk, it's Spotted Gum..

So we're almost one year in our new house...
so far so good...
the 3-month maintenance was a pain... but it's all done now.

Most of our redi-shade blinds are still there... we have curtains and plantation shutters in some windows.

Still haven't done the backyard...

Might post some photos soon...

Hi there, we recently bought 2 off these cabnets off ebay but in a choc wenge colour. Do you mind if I ask you how much you cabnet was? Ours is 2.4 metres long I thing with 8 draws. Also Id love to know where you put things like you Dvd player, etc. DH bought them without thinking about that. 1 is going in our theatre room and the other in our lounge. As much as I LOVE them, I just dont know where Im going to put the xbox, wii, ps3, amp etc.lol
And I thought us woman did the compulsive spending.lol.
Ooooh and I love that wood carving! Yes they normally sell aroung $600 - $800!!!!!
Will def have to go a take a visit to the warehouse and make sure I take my credit card. ::wink::

As for colours.... How did you go? I personally like all drak colour cabnets, lounges etc as they all tie in with one another. Then add colour and texture with textiles such as cusions, throws etc. thats what seems to be in all the display homes.
