The only thing dating in that bathroom is the handbasins. I think its a tile you could really be stunned how nice it looks once its laid Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 7Jun 03, 2010 10:22 pm I am liking the feature tiles more now. they are the ones I found today at a local tile shop. However they are expensive , the plain ones that is. I didn't get a price on the feature floral one. The hand basins I am looking at aren't as high. Here is a pic Are the bathrooms in your home the same color or different? Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 8Jun 04, 2010 2:38 pm Wow! What beautiful tiles....and it seems you have really done your homework. I feel your pain becasue I am torn between a look I love and the risk of it dating. But as mentioned above...everything dates eventually. It's a fine line between playing it safe (and potentially having a very boring bathroom) or adding a design feature and risk it dating. If you really love it (as already metioned) then hopefully you will still love it when it is outdated. As to your last question about different colours between bathrooms that is my intention. Our ensuite will be a more luxurious sanctuary (think coastal day spa) compared to the boys bathroom (main family bathroom) which I intend will have a very classic feel in keeping with the rest of our home. That is my intention at this sage but anything can happen between the fun stage of dreaming and the cold hard reality of building. keep us updated on the progress. It will look fabulous whatever you decide. I have had about 1.5 years to gather ideas for the bathrooms. We are still waiting for permit to come through. Have been to VCAT ( 1 neighbour objection )and we still have to wait 2 months for decision. It has taken way to long, we could have been finished reno and moved in by now....... So it will be a while before pics are up. Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 10Jun 04, 2010 6:15 pm I don't understand feature tiles. Perhaps my small male brain gets overwhelmed by them? I like that bathroom but the feature tile (IMO) distracts from all the other bits of bling - and not in a good way. Renovation Thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=38489 Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 11Jun 04, 2010 10:06 pm OMG what about the lighting in the floor, I would get my rocks off in that bathroom for sure! Please help me with my ensuite lay out on the forum I just put it up. I just looked at the picture again and its the light reflecting on the tiles, it looks like floor lighting. Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 12Jun 05, 2010 9:19 am Biff Costanza I don't understand feature tiles. Perhaps my small male brain gets overwhelmed by them? I like that bathroom but the feature tile (IMO) distracts from all the other bits of bling - and not in a good way. And this is why husbands should get no say in colour or decorating choices.... Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 13Jun 05, 2010 4:39 pm I love that entire bathroom and could sit in that bath for hours staring at all the WOWISM around me I know there's a lot going on there, but it all goes so beautifully together and screams WOW!!!!! Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 14Jun 05, 2010 4:54 pm suh I love that entire bathroom and could sit in that bath for hours staring at all the WOWISM around me I know there's a lot going on there, but it all goes so beautifully together and screams WOW!!!!! Now I'm picturing you ****** in that bath with this look on your face -> The reason those tiles work so well is that everything else in the room is pared-down and ultra-simple. The vanity has very clean lines and doesn't distract from the feature wall, the mirrors don't dominate and there's nothing really fancy apart from the tiles. The bath is a feature, but it's very simple in design. I love it - reminds me of a luxury hotel/spa. I could spend hours in there too. Re: Feature tile and colors for ensuite advice needed 15Jun 05, 2010 9:47 pm WOWISM-very descriptive!
