Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 28, 2010 8:34 pm Will it look better if the mixer and the spout are enclosed on the 1 chrome plate or placed separately side by side? At present I am leaning towards separating the 2 although the spout (with just a flange - not a full plate) will only be half the size of the mixer plate, so not sure if this will look uneven? Re: wall mixers - 1 or 2 cover plates for mixer and spout 2May 31, 2010 11:24 pm I've been wondering about this, but I really think it's more integrated and looks smarter if they're on one backplate, like the Dorf Arc Wall Basin Mixer: http://www.dorf.com.au/product-ranges/mixer-taps/arc/arc-wall-basin-mixer I have been trying to save money by getting just the separate ones, but I really think that's a second choice for me It seems I wouldn't be saving money anyway. Re: wall mixers - 1 or 2 cover plates for mixer and spout 3Jun 01, 2010 8:05 am We also had the same dilema. I think on the one plate looks great, but personally I couldn't justify spending the sort of money they were asking for that set up. I think it was going to cost us well over $400 per tap for them on a single plate...which was not in my budget. So we ended up getting them on separate plates, which I still think looks good, just not as good So if it's in your budget...I do think it looks better...but don't stress if you can't get them. What taps did you end up getting, and what sort of retail price did you pay please? The Dorf tap I linked to above retails at $349, which is the cheapest I've seen so far. The difference isn't that much I suppose, but at the time it seemed too much to pay for a tap especially when we wanted a few 'chelle We have a hand-over date...15/10...but I won't hold my breath! http://people-in-glass-houses.blogspot.com/ Re: wall mixers - 1 or 2 cover plates for mixer and spout 7Jun 01, 2010 6:15 pm Today someone at Reece told me they have a Ram "Luka" with backplate for about $190, and a new model that should appear on the Reece website early tomorrow called a "Yeva" for a similar price or slightly less. Re: wall mixers - 1 or 2 cover plates for mixer and spout 8Jun 01, 2010 6:25 pm That would be right ...Oh well, we had to have our plumbing finalised a few months ago, so not much we can do about it now...the wall mixers have already been installed...I'm sure they wouldn't have been what I was after anyway...at least that's what I'll keep telling myself 'chelle We have a hand-over date...15/10...but I won't hold my breath! http://people-in-glass-houses.blogspot.com/ 2 10984 Excellent, thanks for the tip ... not in Sydney, but I might give the Dy Mark a try, cheers 2 1345 |
