Browse Forums Kitchen Corner Re: stainless steel cleaner 2May 19, 2010 8:48 pm Hot soapy water with a microfibre cloth, then buff up with an old tea towel. That has worked for the face of the oven but I don't have a ss cooktop. My dishwasher has something on it that won't come off that way - someone suggested metho. i'm open to other suggestions! Re: stainless steel cleaner 4May 21, 2010 10:46 am Hillmark SteelPower is a powerful non-scratching heavy-duty cream cleaner formula, which takes the hard work out of cleaning stainless steel. Available: 250ml bottle (& 150ml tube at supermarkets only)... I need to buy some to scrub my ss pots and pans as they are in desperate need. Anybody else have other product suggestions - do they work well? Yes, it's designed for bathrooms, but a commercial cleaner friend of mine says it's the best product they've ever used for cleaning Stainless Steel. So I tried it, and it really works great. You get it at any Supermarket. Re: stainless steel cleaner 8May 22, 2010 11:27 am My friend just told me that she uses a dishwasher tablet - she fills the sink or a large basin with hot water and drops a tablet in then soaks her pots and pans overnight - it works a treat... I will give it a go today... will tell you if it works... It sprays on like a foam and you just buff it till the streaks are gone. I usually go over the cooktop with a damp cloth first, using no pressure at all, to remove any grit and foreign objects. Re: stainless steel cleaner 10May 22, 2010 3:14 pm I use an Enjo product called Marble Paste. It's works beautifully, it's sort of like a thick slightly coarse paste (like traditional Jif). I rub it on with a damp cloth in circular motions, then use a wet chux cloth to wipe off and then dry with paper towel. It comes up shiny and with no streaks etc. This product also works really well for rust marks on things, especially on the kitchen sink Re: stainless steel cleaner 11May 22, 2010 3:43 pm We use Isopropyl Alcohol mixed with water and a paper towel, if you let it soak it will break up stubborn stains and it leaves it streak free every time without trying very hard. Doesn’t work extremely well with the cook top, but if you soak it long enough it will pretty much remove anything. Isopropyl Alcohol is a great cleaner for anything.
