I can get a standard blind that is 1800mm wide and not need to alter it or I can buy the next size which is 1950 wide and adjust it. The window width is 1810. If I buy the 1800mm wide blind I will have a 10mm gap each side and if I buy the 1950 I can adjust it so I only have a 5mm gap. I have this delima with about 9 of my windows. The diffrence will be about $600 to the window costs for all. What do you think. A 5mm diffrence does not seem worth it. If you are putting the short ones on your windows that get ALL the afternoon sun……you may regret it! We had wooden blinds in our last house that were slightly shorter on the sides and they looked ... well not too good We took them back and paid extra for wider ones. In fact we went the whole hog and had them cut down to fit the window perfectly.
It was worth the extra expense. It looks strange if window coverings dont actually cover the window, as the light shining around the blind exaggerates the poor fit. Try and get them as close to the reveal as possible. IMO Brass fly wire, you will need to cut it, shape it and jam it into brick slots 1 7450 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
