AIRCELL - Up to 10 deg cooler with no AC

Anyone has this installed
$10.00 per square mtr + installation ($4k plus for the average 4 x 2).

The new green houses in perth has this product installed.

Any comments for ppl who have this product.

There is nothing fancy about the product. There are quite a few equivalents available on the market. It is a composite insulation of a foil radiant barrier with R 1.0-1.5 foam.

I would say that most of the summer benefit is from the foil blocking radiant gain rather than the foam. It isn't going to be enough to keep the house warm in winter.

I wanted this product for my walls, my builder said no, We don't do it. I am looking to get a product which can be installed on top on the Bradford batts in the ceiling, any suggestions?

It looks as easy to install as any other radiant barrier - two people, half a day's worth of work.

If placed underneath the roof have it facing down toward an air gap. Don't let it get dusty with time or it won't work properly.

Just remember if it is a foil barrier make sure there are is no contact with electricity - Isnt that right Mr Rudd

i still cant understand why people are blaming the government? they gave the incentive for people to do the right thing insulating their homes, and shon-ky businesses took advantage of it...

i love the idea of air-cell, i can personally vouch for it! we went shed shopping and walked into 5x different sheds on a 40 degree day, 2x of them had simple foil insulation and the difference was amazing

Back on topic. I'm building a shed at the moment and I'm using Polyair One. It's the same as aircell but allot cheaper. I paid $255 per 60m x 1.2m roll or $4.25/m. Aircell gives 30sqm coverage per roll while Polyair gives 72sqm. Hope this helps. I also went straight to the manufacturer. I had quotes up to $350/roll.

i think the problem was 'its a self regulated industry'

In the US they had a similar problem with people dieing , when iphones were at their peak , the carriers needed more coverage quickly and in the end six tower comms technicians died [another self regulated industry].
