We had '1 in a hundread year' storms here in Melbourne once. So i went up to check my roof and I only found a few drops coming through the valleys. Neighbors didn't even have to climb into their roof to find the leaks they where obvious from the ground and by looking up at the ceiling. It looks nicer, its cheaper in the long run & has better security. Also got to love the colour range. But as everyone else has mentioned the sound of rain is my personal favourite I have not noticed it lowering the value of properties at all. Re: Roof tiles or Colourbond? 10May 07, 2010 10:28 pm We were told $7500 extra for Colorbond so we are having tiles. Also when we were looking at established houses before we decided to build, we noticed after awhile that the hottest houses had a colorbond roof? Decide whichever you look you prefer and what you can afford. Cheers Kim Re: Roof tiles or Colourbond? 11May 08, 2010 8:02 am Colourbond also love the sound of rain on roof,,, * Are we there yet ? They may not have had the thermal properties that Colourbond has these days-and also the roof colour comes into it as well. Colourbond is also an upgrade here in Victoria. Love it for the following reasons... security, looks, ease of maintenance and of course the sound of the rain Sleven Moved into our Atlantique MkII 36 by Carlisle Homes Re: Roof tiles or Colourbond? 14May 09, 2010 12:18 pm Colorbond We were tossing up between DFH & NBG and one of the deciding factors was the extra inclusions with NBG. DFH wanted an extra $6k for colorbond, which is standard with NBG. I really like the streamlined look of it. Cheers. The painted render is a bit chalky to the touch.
