Very happy that you're happy Mish . Actually, more like - RELIEVED. This interior decorating gig is stressful Glad that part is over & that's just 4 cushions Next step - curtains. Picking up the rods tomorrow. DH is going to be sooo happy to put them up - NOT! The new cushions are quite a contrast to the red ones which were a bit 'bright' .... but still love them. Quote: I would add a dash of green somewhere ... some subdued shade, maybe in some artwork, just a bit. That's exactly what I was thinking. Now it was me who didn't notice your post ... I think h1 used to be more stubborn (or consistent) in keeping displaying you a newer post while you were typing yours ... now it sometimes misses a beat ... never mind though ... Yeah, decorating is scary stuff for me too. I think I'm one of those that can recognise nice pretty stuff or art, but is never able to put it together herself ... But at least it's fun !!!! And we all get to enjoy it and do hmmmms, uhmmms, errrrrrrs, aaaahs, geezes, OMGs etc. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Yep….I didn’t get a reply saying you had posted the pics either, only I saw you’d make a comment in your thread I had a look! BOY……I must make some people cringe in here…………… Oh well, Always remember if “this decorating thing” is hard , then look at it on the side of, “less is best, and keep it simple” you can’t go wrong if you follow those rules. I think your little lounge area is going to look very calming and a relaxed space to visit. Your room needs some charactor. Im sorry the red cushions will have to go. Too strong a colour. First I would look at intoducing some some subtle colour with a rug and window treatments. The rug should be a large statement piece, that comes under each sofa, in creams and taupes, maybe a hint of warmth with a soft pastel. One curtain on each window with tiebacks to anchor at the side of the wall. Where the TV is, you really need to have a wider taller cabinet that maybe dominates the wall a bit more,. Subtle taupe linen cushions for the furniture. Gorgeous artwork will be easy to choose then for the walls Re: Decorating My Lounge 92May 12, 2010 3:30 am kiwichick I had some ideas that might work. I ordered them 4 weeks ago . They're the bottom square ones : Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Quote: How easy was that? I've missed these latest developments as I've been away. The cushions look fantastic, particularly the rectangular ones on the single chairs. I think I have those very same curtain rods, my curtains are just from Freedom, they weren't expensive but they look a million dollars. And - please - no curtain tiebacks!!
