I believe we will need a structural engineer to ok and submit plans to council Would love and info if anyone has been through a similar process Thanks Candi ************* First time renovator VIC Re: Costs for load bearing wall to be removed ??? 2Apr 28, 2010 10:35 am It's really hard to say because it will depend on what measures you need to take to replace the load bearing function. If you are not spanning a aide gap and can get by with a lintel from one existing side to another it should not be too expensive. We had to span an 8 metre gap which meant steel lintel attached at either end to steel supports going down to foundations (over $15,000).
