As you may/may not have seen from my other questions, we have only recently purchased our well-established home, but are already thinking of selling for a few reasons.
House has lots of floor to ceiling windows - the main family/living/dining/kitchen area you could call one big window

Anyway, we only moved in end of summer but when we caught hot days, it was like an oven because there is no air con at all - oh, there is two ceiling fans but they do squat compared to what they are up against. I don't know how previous owners survived without any kind of air con, but they obviously did.
Anyway... if we were staying, air con was top of the list before next summer, but now we are thinking of moving, would an air con unit of some description be a good selling point or should we risk not putting one it?? We will likely be selling in Spring or Summer so we might get caught out if it is hot during the selling campaign and there is no air con.
What do you guys think? And if a definite 'yes' can anyone recommend a good basic/cheap system that we could put in this living area so as not to spend too much?
(It would still leave the bedrooms hot as they are also floor to ceiling windows and one in particular gets the full sun but we can't air con the whole house cheaply - can we???)
