More than one tradie can work simultaneously. Maybe he's being optimistic. Sounds good. From the list I posted earlier, by COB on Wednesday (2 weeks since that post) we should have completed; kitchen fitout (minus appliances) and bathroom vanities - took 1 day Architraves/doorstops All internal doors hung Skirting throughout Windows frame covers Staircase miniwall Front Veranda That leaves us with: 1. Painting (with spray painting) walls, ceilings doors & staircase- 3 days 2. Power point/light switches/light holders- 1 day 3. Bathroom/ensuite/toilet cisterns fitted - 1 day 4. Shower screens fitted - 1 day 5. Bathroom/ensuite tiling - 1 day each 6. Plumbing Kitchen/Bathroom/ensuite/toilet inc HW tank - 1 day 7. Gas connection fitting socket - 1 day 8. Kitchen appliances connection (electrical/gas) - 1 day 9. Ceiling insulation - 1 day 10. Ducted gas system connected/enabled - 1 day 11. Site cleanup - 1 day 12. Flyscreens and security doors - 1 day I think quite a few of the above could be done at the same time. I think a maximum of 1 month should cover it but we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully they are keen to get this one out of the way. I can't wait!!!! Re: How long from plastering to handover? 16Mar 03, 2008 3:26 pm If everything goes without any issue the schedule should be ok.
If our case, we found the kitchen sink leaking, spa bath leaking, bathroom vanity/basin leaking, ....etc. All the plumbing work might be done by a junior person! Lucky we found all this before handover, I won't even want to have handover before all this resolved... Re: How long from plastering to handover? 17Mar 26, 2008 1:02 pm Getting closer.
Currently outstanding: 1. Painting (with spray painting) walls, ceilings doors & staircase & outdoors- 5 days 2. Front Veranda roof and downpipes - 1 day 3. Bathroom/ensuite/toilet cisterns fitted, shower screens fitted Plumbing Kitchen/Bathroom/ensuite/toilet inc HW tank - 1 day 4. Bathroom/ensuite tiling - 1 day each 5. Gas connection fitting socket, ducted gas system connected/enabled - 1 day 6. Ceiling insulation - 1 day 7. Site cleanup - 1 day 8. Flyscreens and security doors - 1 day 9. Power point/light switches/light holders- 1 day 10. Kitchen appliances connection (electrical/gas) - handover day Painters started today. Re: How long from plastering to handover? 18Mar 26, 2008 1:22 pm I'd say our plaster will be complete by the end of this week. I therefore estimate another 2 months for us...but i would like to be pleasantly surprised with an earlier date.....
But since big Kev's doing our pre-handover inspection...i doubt it it will be any earlier!! Re: How long from plastering to handover? 19Mar 27, 2008 7:40 am I think there are the efficient ones and the not so efficient ones..
with us site start was early dec. by xmas we had the slab and timber delivered. Bricking has j u s t started.. and handover is 28th July on contract. in that case it shd be a super quick phase betn plaster to handover If this is a custom build then I would expect the builder to set out the door frame closer to the wall to avoid the gap between architrave and the wall and or specify… 9 8313 Congratulations! Nice to put that to bed before christmas, now you can relax 3 7180 What? It's a lighting question, the control joint is only needed at 12m centres, a bulkhead or change of direction will suffice as a 'break' in the ceiling, just make… 8 8578 |
