Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Apr 14, 2010 12:03 pm my new house has rangehood ducted through the roof with a vent. when it is a windy day or even if it is not too windy, i can hear the wind noise coming from within the rangehood, does anyone know how to fix this? i am thinking to get the builder to replace the vent cowl as it may be the one letting the wind to get in. i have visited several houses with the same venting arragnement to rangehood and there is no wind nosie problem. It sits on top of the exhaust outlet and has two 'wings' which open up when the rangehood is in operation and when the rangehood is off the the 'wings' fall back down again. It depends on how much load coming on the wall framing.
