I purchased the Morris Chocolate Lowline TV Cabinet from them last year to have as new when we moved into this house and planning on getting the matching Buffet as well very soon. I think that it should look OK but as Aaron & Erin says i think you do need something else in that Chocolate colour as well. I have all Chocolate and it looks stunning. I think it best to wait to see what Michelle thinks. Just make sure that if you do order it that you are home when they turn up as they won't leave it (which is good) but you will have to pay for Delivery all over again if you are not home. Re: Would this buffet go okay here? 8Mar 23, 2010 9:54 pm hi guys, I don't think I'd mix those two timber stains the way you are suggesting. It doesn't feel right to me, but then again, I've been wrong before!!! is the buffet a laminate or timber stained.. maybe if stained, then will look good next to a lighter stained table... You already have 2 timbers with the floor and dining setting which really complement each other, but a 3rd might be a bit much. Have you looked at buffets in different materials - glass, painted, stone top? Re: Would this buffet go okay here? 11Mar 24, 2010 8:59 am hmmm, thanks so much for your replies guys, yeah maybe you're right, maybe i should be looking for just a plain black one? not really a fan of glass for this sort of thing, just seems too smash-able... haven't seen any stone-top ones, but have just been lazy and looking on ebay should prob get off my bottom and look in some real shops hey. Not sure if it is real wood but i dont think so, the description just says "the smart urban styling features the timeless look of timber" and they have been going pretty chaeply so I'm guessing it's not. yes maurita its from BFT! thanks I'll keep that in mind if I get it delivered though I was thinking I'd go pick it up as they are in Melbourne. thanks again everyone, I'll keep looking! Re: Would this buffet go okay here? 17Mar 28, 2010 9:59 am donuts white is much easier to keep clean than black. You barely see the dust on white, black shows up everything, dust, fingerprints, scratches. I think white would be your best choice, black could be too heavy. Re: Would this buffet go okay here? 18Mar 28, 2010 1:05 pm Also, bear in mind it doesn't have to be black or white. Design Initial in Adelaide have contemporary gloss painted furniture in beige or charcoal - even some pieces in cherry red, which could be quite dramatic in the right setting. Beyond Furniture in Sydney appear to have similar stock from their website. We found the beige gave us the look we wanted in a large wall unit and glass-shelved wall panel. More subtle and not as stark as the white and it blended better with our wall colour and some timber furniture nearby. It won't be right for everybody, but it may be worth knowing that the choice is not "black and white" Cheers zeke Re: Would this buffet go okay here? 19Mar 28, 2010 3:10 pm Re my post above, here are a couple of pics of a corner of our family room showing the beige units and how they seem to go OK with the timber - or at least we think they do. (Decoration of this room is very incomplete - hence the empty bays in the wall unit. Also need some new chairs) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Cheers zeke Re: Would this buffet go okay here? 20Mar 29, 2010 10:05 am hmm interesting sue! you really think the white would look okay there? i just can't picture it! thanks for the pics zeke, your beige unit looks stunning! what is it made of? 2 pac or something? was it expensive?
