People who act in spite of their fear are truly brave" - James A. LaFond-Lewis Re: Show me your kitchen... 442Mar 18, 2010 2:51 pm littlemoscow, gorgeous kitchen, so stylish. We had those floor tiles in our last house, and yes, they look lovely, but with little kids (one crawling at the time), in certain light, every mark showed and they annoyed me. I do like them though Re: Show me your kitchen... 443Mar 21, 2010 2:39 pm We finally got our ceasar stone installed on Friday, so its looking like a kitchen now, I just have to be patient and wait a couple of weeks for the tiles & appliances go in. Oh I hate the waiting... The horizontal pattern is great - makes your kitchen very individual. Re: Show me your kitchen... 449Mar 21, 2010 8:14 pm Thanks All, I saw the laminate use vertically today in a display home & it looked so different. The staff at Laminex showroom in Brisbane where great I spent about 2 hours there trying out different combinations, having access to the larger samples that you could pull out and put together really helped and being able to take home as well was even better. If anyone is trying to work out what they want to do in their kitchen it is worth the visit. I am just holding my breath for the splash back to go on.. Re: Show me your kitchen... 456Mar 23, 2010 10:03 pm Okay, deep breath - first foray into the kitchen forum, first foray into kitchen reno at the almost half-century mark. I thought it was going to be easy - I wanted real wood cupboards and stone bench - kitchen not big, how hard (and/or expensive) can that be. Yup ... okay having picked up my jaw from underground where it landed having seen those initial quotes ...Yes, I'm the reno virgin. Question to all more experienced (at least in renos) than I - if I go the laminate cupboards, can I still whack the caesarstone, and it's likely to be the 20mm instead of the 40mm on top and still look at myself in the mirror in the morning? Having looked at some of the beautiful kitchens on this forum ... I'm having doubts ... Having looked at some of the beautiful kitchens on this forum ... I'm having doubts ... Of course! There are some beautiful laminates to choose from, and stone can look fabulous in either thickness. It all depends on the look you're going for. Decide on a look you like (there's lots of inspiration in this forum and on building threads too), and then pick finishes and colours to suit.
