FACADE pic now added! 4Mar 16, 2010 11:42 am Just come home from a weekend away camping and was anticipating lots of comments/opinions to help me make my decision..... Thanks Dollar- have considered Monument but I really don't want to go too dark... Woodland Grey is not one I have considered but will have a look, do you think Ironstone would look ok? Thanks All The Sand- I think I am leaning more towards a darker roof now too. Hoping Michelle might pop in and give me her expert opinion as well PLEASE??? To lighten it all up you now have the windspray….no brown tones. I trust your advice but just interested really. Have heard lots of comments about Woodland Grey throwing a bit of green so thought the Ironstone might be better.... am so glad I posted this thread now beacause I was really not confident with with initial color selections. Have put those colours on StudioM and it looks alot "greyer" than I was hoping.... Would you suggest going a lighter render colour or maybe lighter gutters and fascia to make it not so grey looking? It does look really nice- just different to what I had imagined. Again, thanks so much for your advice..... I hope I don't sound ungreatful questioning it Michelle x Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Ironstone or Woodland Grey Roof with Blue Rio Bricks?? 8Mar 16, 2010 7:09 pm Ironstone is lovely (which is why I've used lots of it ) but it's a VERY blue "grey". The StudioM simulation you've posted is nothing like the true colour. So perhaps the Woodland Grey isn't showing true either? Check out my blog (link's in my signature - the first one) to get an idea of what Ironstone looks like - I don't have it on the roof, but we used it on garage door, spouting, fascias and also had paint and render tinted to match for front door, letterbox, some pots and our rendered feature wall in the back yard. Can you tell I like it? It might be a bit much blue with your bricks..... Oh - we have WL Grey fences....you should be able to see those too. Can look quite dark though. Woodland grey certainly looks green in the right light. Sorry Michelle- I was POSITIVE I answered you yesterday re: render colour! So weird! Maybe I dreamt it!?? "In my dream"- I explained that I haven't decided on a render colour- just that I want it to be a light colour to contrast the bricks. The render will be around the garage door (which will still possibly be surfmist?) and the second room. Our facade is almost exactly the same as the one I have posted above but we also have a timber (merbau I think) feature above the portico. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Ironstone or Woodland Grey Roof with Blue Rio Bricks?? 17Mar 18, 2010 9:07 am someone else did a house with these sort of bricks with a shale grey (? or at least light coloured...) roof, i think it might have been dale & doghouse? see if you can have a loko at their blog or search for their pics on here. from memory it looked really good! but i dont think they had light coloured render, so the light & dark balanced a bit more... could imagine it could possibly look like too much light colour going on if you have light render too. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Ironstone or Woodland Grey Roof with Blue Rio Bricks?? 19Mar 18, 2010 4:06 pm Thanks heaps Michelle!!!! I think I have decided to go with Woodland Grey roof and gutters but still with the Surfmist garage and fascia. Love Ironstone but am worried about having "too much" blue, so am playing safe. Render won't need to be decided until later so heaps of time to ponder between now and then. Donuts- I originally wanted light roof and have seen the house you are talking about- looks great but I tend to agree with you, I have more light colour on the facade and should keep with a slightly darker colour. Love you Michelle and everyone who offers advice on Homeone!!!! Couldn't do this without you all! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=32574 Re: Ironstone or Woodland Grey Roof with Blue Rio Bricks?? 20Mar 18, 2010 4:45 pm i prefer the ironstone, that's what we have, and it has a blue tinge to it so i think it would look better with your bricks. Here is a pic of my roof with our lighter bricks, still definitely a grey colour but blue hues.... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Caz & Co ALL MOVED IN!!
