Dish Washer (had one previosly and like the Miele very quiet and cutlery tray is cool), Bosch Induction cook top and Bosch oven. The rangehood is Qasair as its super quiet. Kitchen is near living area so quiet was key. We also (reluctantly) forked out the grand for the Bosh Microwave, to keep the clean lines look - and the sales rep assures me that the new inverter in the Bosch is fantastic. Hope this helps and good luck - PS: We were going NEF, however bang for buck (and from advise on this forum) Bosh won out. * Are we there yet ? Demolition has come and gone ! yippeeee..hang on that was months ago !! come on Mr Builder, dig a hole at least Finaly ! Hole Dug ! well done darren 20/06/2010. Slab is down ! Framing is complete 20/10/2010 we are progressing like a snail on heat - excited and determined but very very slow Steveo Re: Kitchen Appliances - what's a good brand? 11Mar 14, 2010 2:29 pm We have everything Mile in our kitchen, however, I believe it is too expensive. I would recommend considering Smeg Appliances, they are upmarket and not too expensive. If you are looking at cheaper Brand, Westinghouse is low maintenance and generrally reliable. Re: Kitchen Appliances - what's a good brand? 12Mar 14, 2010 3:23 pm Thanks everyone for your advice/comments. I think we have narrowed it down to Bosch and Neff. Am getting prices on both tomorrow so will go with whichever one comes in at the best price. Both look great and get great reviews, so I think either way we can't go wrong. Re: Kitchen Appliances - what's a good brand? 13Mar 14, 2010 9:01 pm Hi Devendiva, Don't get caught with the mentality that you must have the same brand for every appliance. Choose the best appliance for each individual application. A good salesperson will do this not just recommend the product that they make the most commission on!! Good luck!! We also really liked the Neff but went with the Bosch because the price was negotiable and the Neff wasn't. Either will be good, I'm sure Re: Kitchen Appliances - what's a good brand? 16Mar 15, 2010 10:50 am Quote: Don't get caught with the mentality that you must have the same brand for every appliance. Choose the best appliance for each individual application. Absolutely correct. In terms of ovens - It is Gaggenau by a long way but totally expensive. Next rung down is Miele then Neff and Siemens. Bosch would be next then some gap to Blanco/Smeg and the other Euro brands. Siemens is probably best value for money as you get most of the features of Miele but at about 80% of cost. Cooktops probably go with what you like the look of. There is not going to be a great performance difference with a cooktop but if you can afford it, look at induction options as well as gas. Dishwasher....we went for Fisher Paykel as we wanted the drawers but Miele and Bosch are both very good. Rangehood...I would definately advise you to go with Quasair. It is about the one appliance that everyone we spoke to universally recommended. They are not cheap but I think this is the one applience you should not skimp on. Re: Kitchen Appliances - what's a good brand? 17Mar 15, 2010 11:21 am We're having Miele for everything other than the rangehood which will be Quasair. Doesn't it also depend on the value of your house? Is it possible to over capitalise on appliances?I'm not sure I could justify putting Miele appliances in a $300,000 property. Re: Kitchen Appliances - what's a good brand? 19Mar 15, 2010 11:59 am i love my miele dishwasher (have also lived with Asko which is excellent too) but i HATE my westinghouse cooktop. two of the o-rings have come off making two of the burners unusable.
