I only ask because I'm in a very wind prone area but I'm desperate for some sort of sun protection! No, no rattling at all. We never considered that! I don't think it is too much of an issue though because even on the hottest days the air-con doesn't get turned on until around midday anyway, by which time the unit is in the shade.
