I am looking at building a Coral Home in Brisbane but I would like some feedback on if you are happy with the end result?? It is soooo confusing trying to find a builder with decent credentials that has done good work, can anyone help me? Thankyou!!!! Hi Cob79 Where abouts in Brisbane are you building? Sorry, can't help with C0ral info, but I know there are others on here building with them Re: Coral Homes 31Mar 12, 2010 10:39 am Hi cob79 ... you should get plenty of help from this forum, maybe try the blogs in Building a new home. You could also try Product Review website. Good luck Re: Coral Homes 32Mar 21, 2010 12:20 am Hi cob79, I am also building with Coral Homes and the construction begins on Monday Check out my blog for the process so far. Re: Coral Homes 33Apr 03, 2010 10:58 am I am building a daydream 251 with coral. Build time has been 11 weeks to date and walkthrough is next week. should be moving in by end of april. They have been really good Re: Coral Homes 35May 14, 2010 8:36 am I've had a very nice experience so far. The house is half done. So far i havent had to intervene at all. The site supervisor has been giving me weekely updates and i inspect the house almost daily Re: Coral Homes 36May 14, 2010 8:52 am We are building with them too. We have taken forever as we changed plans to a Heron after working on their Hamilton plan for around 4 months! Apparently this itself would have given most builders a coronary but Coral were very accomodating. We made heaps of changes to the Hamilton which we thought were reasonably priced. The sales lady while initially being a bit of a cold fish (hope she isnt lurking here anywhere) did warm over time. She was patient & I guess maybe was wondering if we were serious with all the muking around we ended up doing. We made less changes to the Heron and none of the changes were a drama - except a couple of flat out 'no we dont do that'. I accepted this as sort of quality control - wont do it as htey have to guarantee their work? Once we went to contract we had a fair bit of contact with the admin staff. Ours was great but did get a bit pushy when the bank dragged their heels with the ACC letter. Anyway we are now in the early stages of the build (plumbing just gone in) and they have continued to provide a good customer service. We have been kept informed, have 24/7 access to the site & after speaking to a couple of the siteworks guys on the block, are happy we went with Coral. Their reputation within the industry has been confirmed by these guys & other builders & tradies we have met away from this project. Looking good so far - time will tell. Plenty of Coral builders on here on the Gold Coast & in Brissie so you should get a good idea what they are like. Time to stop waffling Cheers Kim Re: Coral Homes 37May 14, 2010 9:07 am jbo How did everyones build with Coral go, we are looking at building with them but want to make sure they are decent to build with. Hi jbo, We are coming to the end of our build with Coral. You can check out our experience from beginning to end in my thread (link in sig). Check out the other Coral buildees blogs in the 'Building Blogs' section of this forum. I can't recommend them enough, the experience has definitely been a good one Good Luck. Whereabout are you going to be building? Which design are you considering? Re: Coral Homes 39May 14, 2010 10:14 am Finally, a new design for us to comment on I quite like the design jbo. The lounge and family areas are really huge. Thinking aloud and hope you dont mind, but dont you think the kitchen is too far away from your entrance. For me the kitchen is the first place i would like to go to when i come home from a tiring day. I am sure you must have considered it before finalising your design, and thats what the modification is. Re: Coral Homes 40May 14, 2010 1:42 pm The kitchen distance is not really a big deal for me and have lived in houses that were similar. Will be hopefully using the lounge area to put a bar and a pool table in. The modification will be extending the main bedroom and changing the layout of the WIR, ensuite and main bathrooms. Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13723 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1693 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74682 |
